We had a wonderful dinner here. The menu is small but full of delicious options. We recommend a reservation, as the restaurant is small and filled up very quickly! We shared a cheese board to start and each tried a handmade pasta for dinner, which were delicious. Our favorite part was the chocolate budino for dessert - a waiter told us it was "shut-the-front-door good" and we were so glad we took him up on his recommendation!

We had a super dinner at Trattoria Lucca last Saturday. There was a big group of ham heads celebrating a bachelor party seated next to us, but they chilled out and didn't ruin our night. This place is very hip, but also very accommodating. Our server was helpful and attentive and we had a really good meal. They said the menu changes frequently but with the quality, who cares. I had a pork pasta that was great. Whatever you get, the ingredients are fresh, and it was very, very well prepared.

Hands down the best Italian in Charleston. Might even say best in the southeast. The restaurant is a hidden gem, very nyc style. Great ambiance and staff. We ordered the cauliflower and burrata, along with the ricotta gnudi and blue crab lasagna and we were in heaven. Can’t wait to come back!

This is a small restaurant and I’d advise a reservation. The service was knowledgeable and friendly. The chief is very creative and the menu changes frequently. We enjoyed a Caesar salad with shaved kohlrabi, so different, but so delicious. The wild boar with tomato sago was wonderful and the chocolate budino for dessert was pure decadence. There’s no liquor just wine. Street parking only.

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, Trattoria Lucca delvers on big flavors and outstanding Italian cuisine . The quaint historic house that holds Lucca is comforting and welcoming as soon as step through the front door. We had a reservation for 8:30 (reservations are highly recommended) and the restaurant was packed when we arrived. After a bottle of wine at the bar our table was ready. I stared with Grandma Volpe's Italian Wedding Soup. The soup was the best Italian Wedding Soup I have ever eaten. As the bowl emptied out I actually thought of ordering a second bowl or at least a to go order. Other appetizers served were the Warm Cauliflower Sformatino a delicious warm cauliflower dish with a soft baked egg that is swirled throughout the cauliflower after arriving to the table. In house made burrata was also served during the first course. Our main course was the Paccheri stuffed with braised heritage pork covered with a tomato sugo and cheese. Although a little heavy handed on the salt, the dish was delicious and very satisfying. Our friends had the Italian pork chop, that was a large as his face, perfectly breaded and covered in red sauce and cheese with our other friend had the scallopini. All of the meals were delicious. The wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. Minus the salt, Lucca is by far one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to in the states. .

This a cozy romantic restaurant with mostly Nuevo italian dishes. The service was excellent. My wife ordered a pork stuffed pasta that was a daily special. She didn’t like it. Too heavy. However the waiter was quick to offer a substitution. I had sword fish special that I enjoyed. Overall a good value but not your traditional Italian menu. We would go back.

Phenomenal experience. Delicious wholesome food, we had an excellent waiter, and the chef accommodated for an allergy in our party which was something we weren't expecting but were very pleased with. I have nothing but praise to say about the food. There's no sense explaining. Just try it. You will like it.

Loved the Italian dishes. Better than many meals we had in Italy! Worth the price on family night! Great service! Did I mention that the food is incredible?

So, it's taken me over a week to thInk about the review I'm about to write on this restaurant. It's good but highly overrated in my opinion. The food is good, the server fantastic but my dear people this place is highly overrated amongst other things that irked me. The three stars are for the following: 1. Lack of space. Tables are in top of each other, there is no room. You enter the restaurant and right there people are eating, no where to wait ((if early)) no where to put coats or umbrellas. It feels so tight. No room to sit at the bar because it's reserved for diners. The tables themselves (ours were for four) are tiny, no room for water, wine and plates etc. 2. It is outrageously expensive, yes the food is good but it's still over the top too pricey. 3. Corkage is $40.00 What ?! 4. The wine list is extensive, based out of Italy, but again pricey. 5. No sales of liquor because we are 300 feet from a church... What ?! Apparently an old Charleston law... okay that's not the restaurant issue but again ridiculous. I've eaten in many many restaurants in this city and that's the first I've ever heard of that law. But okay.. we drank some great wine. 6. I didn't find it particularly reminiscent of Italy which I've been to several times. To finish my review, I will reiterate, the food is good, but I had a serious letdown because the place is so highly rated. My purpose here is to be direct & informative based on my opinion. I left after dinner thinking "Meh"..

We enjoyed everything on Monday nights family dinner. All four courses were great but our server Scott was a little obnoxious and made it hard for us to enjoy our conversation. We would still come back but probably ask to be seated in another servers section.

Very Attractive restaurant but the food was disappointing. All the dishes had too many ingredients and too many herbs/spices. I travel to Italy 4 times a year and this does not remotely resemble real Italian food.
