Vern’s in Elliotborough serves well-crafted, shareable plates in a warm, unfussy setting. Highlights: charred sourdough, bitter lettuce salad, and a stellar satsuma–vanilla dessert. Great wine list and friendly service—definitely a neighborhood gem.

A great neighborhood restaurant, just wish it was in my hood! Started with Tuna, shrimps and bread with some bubbles, then moved on to the trout and the rabbit with campanello pasta, all excellent as was the service. We went at 5pm hoping for a bar seat and had an actual table l, we will be back :)

Dano never disappoints. This is truly our favorite restaurant in Charleston. Food is beyond delectable and Bethany is the perfect added touch of elegance and perfection!:)

This was one of the finest meals we've ever had. Absolutely incredible food. The flavors were exceptional- each dish was complex but approachable. Everything, from the decor to the food to the service, had an understated elegance to it. The charred sourdough is a must have. The salad was insanely good. The entrees perfection. For the quality of food and the service, the price is completely reasonable. Charleston has amazing restaurants, and this is certainly one of the very best.

So many times I’ve called this my “last meal” meal because if it was my last day on earth, Verns is fantastic and they do not miss! They should have a Michelin star.

Great meal and excellent service. The staff was attentive and made the whole experience really enjoyable. It was definitely on the louder side, so it’s not the best spot if you’re looking for a quiet dinner—but the vibrant atmosphere works if you’re in the mood for something lively. Overall, a solid place with creative dishes and a fun energy. Would come back!

Hands down me of the most impressive meals I have had in a VERY long time.

Definitely get a reservation a few weeks in advance if you can— it books out (and for good reason). Luckily, we managed to get sat around 9:30pm despite messing up our reservation date on accident. The hostess was super lovely and got us in before close!

We sat at the bar and the service was fantastic. Bartender was personable and charming and helped us decide on a few menu items. To start, definitely get the bread (was surprisingly amazing). For entrees we got the wagyu and the lamb entree that was on special. While pricey, it was worth every penny. The lamb was served with a red wine au jus and a truffle sauce and was seriously one of the best dishes I’ve had (maybe ever). Kudos to the chef! With we had room for dessert, but we were stuffed by the end.

Everyone was super friendly and we had a wonderful experience. Definitely worth a trip if you’re in the area!

My husband and I were really excited to try this place after all of the positive reviews and gossip around town. All three of our hot dishes came out cold??? By the end we thought we were being punked. Shrimp was tasteless. The mushroom pasta was decent but clumped together bc of the temperature. The wagyu was tender (but cold) and was swimming in a salsa verde sauce that didn’t compliment such a nice piece of meat. The best part of our meal was the bitter salad which we loved. Really unfortunate, was expecting to add this restaurant to our rotation.
