Virginia's on King was a special experience. The overall environment is cozy, warm, and welcoming. The food is classic and delicious. We loved it!!
My steak was extremely tough. Pasta was overcooked... Greeter at entrance was very kind... server was nice enough but handed me my tab prior to asking if I wanted desert. He said no rush... but we felt rushed.
Overall good food but was annoyed they let us make a 7:30 reservation on Open Table on Saturday night when they close at 8pm. The server was polite and let us finish our meal but handed us the check before we could even ask about dessert because they had closed already. Would have been very disappointing if we had hoped for a more leisurely meal!
Virginia's was AMAZING. The food and service were incredible. Dani took care of our table and had great recommendations while providing us with such personable service. I had the berry salad with fried chicken, my mother in law probably had one of everything and loved it all. Good wine list. Would highly recommend. Can't wait to go back the next time we're in Charleston.
My partner and I went to Virginia's on Saturday 10/11. The hostess and food were amazing! They had the best fried green tomatoes I've had in a long time. Our waitress seemed to have judged us slightly and did not talk to us the same as she did her other tables. Overall we had a great time and we both would recommend eating here.
I'm sorry to say that our meals were not good. My husband had the smothered pork chops with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The pork chops were long and thin and so overcooked/fried they were very dry. We could not identify the vegetables they were just mush. The fried chicken was so over fried that I had to peel the skin/batter off to get to the chicken. It was hard to eat it because it was so dry. The mashed potatoes were cold. The collard greens were wonderful!
Fabulous brunch! Tried delicious chicken & waffles & fried green tomatoes for the 1st time with a yummy bloody Mary, loved it! Great, cheerful service too.
Our server was super...I had been to one of Charleston's nationally ranked restaurants the evening before and found our service for breakfast at Virginia's better!
Virginias on King was wonderful! All the down home southern food you love! We had deviled eggs, the best potato soup I've ever had, fried green tomatoes, beans and rice, and crab cakes. Took banana pudding with us and ate on the road to Hilton Head. So good! Delightful waitress. Beautiful paintings on the walls. It was very noisy but got better when some of the main lunch crowd left.
This was my 3rd visit. Absolutely my favorite restaurant in the city! So consistently good! No complaints at all!!! The service was perfect as always. The food was incredible! Took a few people who had never been and now they are hooked! Please don't change!

We had the Green Tomato Eggs Benedict with potatoes and the potato bowl. Both were very good and food was hot when it came out. The wait staff were so nice and very friendly. I would recommend!
We had a great time at Virginias on King. The brunch was amazing! You have to try the breakfast burrito. We also got the champagne bottle with different juice, definitely recommend.
We would definitely eat there again! The pickled okra, shrimp and grits, and fried chicken were delicious.
Visiting from out of town for just a few hours and got nervous to try after some reviews but soooo happy we still went. Food and drinks were OUTSTANDING! The atmosphere just right. Only complaint was our server was not too friendly at first but we think maybe she was just new/nervous? Eventually she started to smile and relax with us. Would love to be able to go back there again someday for another quality hit the spot comfort meal. Definitely recommend.
Need to take pasta dish off the menu. Anglehair pasta with basically no sauce. Raw tomatoes and artichoke hearts just thrown on the plate.
