Service impecable and food amazing. Enjoyed every single bite and the creativity behind the dishes. We went with the A5 wagyu upgrade with Spanish black truffles and it was a treat but we have had better A5. They mentioned that the beef regardless of the upgrade is fantastic and I believe them because everything we tried in the menu was outstanding.

The best dining experience we have had in Charleston. And when I say “experience” I mean EXPERIENCE! Much more than a meal. The minute we entered the beautiful courtyard on to the small restaurant, I knew we were in for something special. The chef’s menu and staff are excellent. The presentation of the preplanned menu was as if we were dining in Paris. Worth every penny!

We visited Zero George over Thanksgiving weekend with a group mixed with very adventurous eaters and some more trepidatious. Along with delivering a star-worthy dining experience, Zero George goes above and beyond by offering substitutions for things like my husband preferring to avoid raw fish. They are focused on making sure each guest enjoys the evening.

One of my absolute favorite additions to the experience was the truly crafted non-alcoholic options. The same care and creativity that was applied to alcoholic cocktails was also applied to their zero proof menu and it was such a delight! As someone who doesn’t often drink, I can tell you this option is not common and it was a real treat for me!

The staff was the perfect blend of highly trained without pretentiousness. The GM visited every table we saw that evening and worked seamlessly with the staff throughout the night.

The ambiance of the property is incredibly lovely!

Between the staff, service, drinks, food, and property, we certainly plan to visit Zero George again!

We returned to Zero George to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and once again, the team delivered an extraordinary experience. From the inventive fall cocktail menu (the shiitake martini is genius!) to the thoughtful attention paid by the staff to my octogenarian mother, every detail felt curated and intentional.

The meal began with a series of stunning small bites — true edible art — and continued with beautifully composed courses. The wagyu cigar remains one of the most delightful amuse-bouches in the Southeast, and the red shrimp dish was a masterclass in unexpected flavor pairings. The halibut with persimmon was perfectly cooked, and the wagyu sirloin with porcini and chestnut was bold and decadent. My only regret was not adding on the A5 wagyu, as my son is still talking about it from our last visit!

Desserts were just as creative, with the shortcake and its balsamic center standing out as a highlight. The service was as gracious as the food was exquisite, and the entire evening left my mother reminiscing about fine meals past — from Cyprus to Seoul to Barcelona. That’s the caliber of experience Zero George delivers.

An absolute gem. We already can’t wait to return.

If this restaurant doesn't get a Michelin star next week, I will be surprised and disappointed. The experience was fantastic despite my high expectations. Staff was engaging and welcoming. Servers were very helpful with descriptions and suggestions. And the Sommelier was knowledgeable. We enjoyed the 7 course tasting menu with elevated wine pairings. It was not a meal, but a pleasant journey. And contrary to the typical Michelin 4 hour dinner, the pace here at Zero was perfect, approx 2 hrs. Our table room was quiet and easy to converse. I would have liked something printed to take with me describing food/wine we enjoyed.

Extraordinary, thoughtfully executed courses. Service was impeccable and prompt without being overbearing. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Hoping a star comes your way soon because you would all certainly deserve it.

This is a lovely restaurant with thoughtful, creative dishes and wonderful staff. Come with an open mind and try everything. The bar serves outstanding craft cocktails. If you aren't sure how to eat a dish, just ask - the staff are happy to help. I would put this restaurant at the top of my Charleston list, you won't be disappointed.

We had a reservation on August 23 for the tasting menu for our anniversary. The restaurant is located just off of East Bay Street which floods when it rains and there are high tides. Did to the weather and risks associated with going downtown - we canceled our reservation.

Over the last 24 hours it had rained upwards of 10 inches in Charleston. High tide was at 9:15, which was the time we would have been finishing up our meal.

Because of this, we called in the early afternoon and attempted to reschedule our dinner to a later date and asked for the restaurant to waive the penalty. Nobody answered but the call back said they would leave it as is which was against our wishes.

We then emailed the restaurant to cancel after the City of Charleston send out a notice asking people not to visit downtown. There was literally a request not to visit the area because of a flood warning.

Despite our requests, the flooding and the City of Charleston sending notices NOT to visit Downtown ( we live in Mount Pleasant) the restaurant has kept our deposit.

This is not typical of a Charleston business. I don’t know who made these decisions for the restaurant but this is completely unacceptable.

There are literally 100 comparable restaurants in the area. Plenty are great.

Don’t pick this one.

My wife and I had the pleasure of celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary at The Restaurant at Zero George, and it was truly a magical evening. From the moment we arrived, the setting felt intimate and special, the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to savor every detail of the experience.

Our server, Ray, was outstanding—professional, attentive, and warm. He guided us seamlessly through the evening, striking the perfect balance of attentiveness without ever being intrusive. His thoughtful service elevated the experience and made us feel genuinely celebrated on our special night.

The tasting menu itself was a work of art. Each course was beautifully presented and showcased an incredible blend of flavors, textures, and creativity. It was clear that every dish required an exceptional level of skill and precision. We were also touched that the chef provided us with a signed copy of the evening’s menu—such a thoughtful detail that added to the magic of the night.

We are deeply grateful to the chef and his team for giving us the opportunity to experience their culinary artistry. Zero George is more than dinner—it is an unforgettable journey of food and hospitality.

If I’m being honest, Zero George did not live up to several standards. The first thing we got was the caviar service. While it was good, it was far from the best presentation of caviar and accoutrements we’ve ever gotten, considering the price.

Next came the bubbles and bites pairing. This was good, but it didn’t seem like there was much attention given to pairing the wines with a corresponding bite. The Wagyu ‘cigar’ was probably the best bite of our meal, but the ponzu egg and the foie gras seemed lost against the wines.

We immediately followed this with the deviled eggs. While they were solid and the preparer was not shy with the caviar, they were surpassed by other deviled eggs we had tasted earlier in the day.

We closed our meal with the Wagyu truffle burger. We were told going in that this was a high point of the menu, which likely contributed to our disappointment. To be perfectly frank, it was a salt bomb. The burger and toppings were decent, but we’ve had the sliders at one of Zero George’s sister properties at a fifth of the price, and I’d take those over the burger any day.

Overall, we were underwhelmed. Considering our experience with another Easton Porter property, this was a bit concerning. I get that people can have an off day, but for what we paid for our meal, multiple misses like this shouldn’t happen.
