I was really disappointed with my recent meal. The jerk BBQ chicken tasted old, overcooked, and reheated, then smothered in BBQ sauce with no spice at all. The cabbage was fresh, but the plantains were burnt, and the rice and peas were clearly reheated after sitting out for a while. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

Dont walk...RUN !!! to visit Calabash Caribbean Grill for the best authentic Jamaican restaurant in Columbia SC. The atmosphere is so relaxing and fun. The host gave me such a warm greeting when I entered the restaurant this morning. In fact whenever I visit either location of Calabash I am treated royally with courtesy and kindness. The food is SO delicious and flavorful. The prices are also reasonable for the wide array of great Jamaican dishes.
Big Up Calabash Restaurant !!!

Went after church on Sunday at 12:30pm. Had the stewed chicken with rice and peas and cabbage and side of macaroni and cheese. The portions were generous. Fed 3 adults out of the large dinner. The food was fresh and seasoned well. Very tasty. Will definitely be back again.

All around good. The food was fresh. Every item that we ordered on the menu was available and it seem to be very authentic. Went there at 8pm on a Wednesday no one was there it was a perfect day and a good atmosphere. Definitely going back.

We just had the most delicious lunch from here. We snacked on patties (a spinach and a beef) while our lunch of jerk chicken and chicken curry were being boxed up. The patties just made me want more. We devoured the rest of it as soon as we got home. It was delicious. It was fresh. The staff made it fun. We will be back!

Has some good oxtail and curry goat. I will have to go back to try their fish and their cornish hen.

Ordered my food at 4:17pm didn't get it until 5:05pm. Owners didn't even want to give a complimentary drink for the long (hot)wait. They were out of goat so I settled for oxtail. My mother wanted saltfish and ackee or calilou (idk what it's called) and only received a sprinkle of saltfish. After spending $62 on 3 meals, waiting in a hot restaurant with flies everywhere for over 40min all we got was a "sorry for the inconvenience" and a sprinkle of saltfish.
**I was also charged a fee for hospitality and transportation. On top of 10% tax

The food does not taste like Jamaican food! There was bones in my rice, barely any meat on the chicken, the rice and peas were subpar and the cabbage was unseasoned. It’s sad that not ONE place in Columbia can make Jamaican food here! It explains why this place was empty in the middle of a Saturday afternoon! I definitely won’t be back! Customer service was good tho….

I purchased 1 meal and 1 side which came out to almost $30. The food was good with the exception of the dry rice. I bought oxtails and curry goat... Why would I have to ask for gravy on my rice?...that wasn't the bad part though. It was the part where I was charged a transportation tax when I came to pick up my food. Tf ... Then charged a hospitality tax for a young lady to bring out two separate people's orders and sat them down on the counter and yelled out for them to get them not knowing which was which. Lucky for her we picked the correct bags on the first try... When I was able to catch her because she never made eye contact... Probably thinking we couldn't see her if she didn't look directly at us... I asked her what was the transportation tax for she just shrugged her shoulders and said she just... That's it... That's all ... Lesson learned.

Vegetarian options: Selection asked nothing about food young lady in front of me Paid 18.00 for small plate and plate had 2 ox tails on the plate and brown chicken so she was not happy about it. Once i ordered and saw my plate and I ordered the large ox tails and curry goat. And was given 2 ox tails med size and goat. I shared this to say if ox tails are so expensive that you give people 2 ox tails on their plate my husband count the goat it was 6 pieces. Then do not offer on menu but as a cater on the other hand if the food is good people will pay however I grade the food low because it wasn't of my liken. I love brown chicken but my spot still remains oneals court best spot for that. none of these places mac and cheese are good at all. Red bean and rice it's ok cabbage awesome loved. My husband gave it and ok mac thumbs down . How ever I may try again. The small the young had look like the large so it wasn't any different in portions from lg or small. Every day will not be a good day but over 45 min in this restaurant waiting to checkout out guys this isn't good. As business owners we learn from feed back.wish you the best of luck.
