On November 15, 2025 at 8:00 PM, I had the absolute pleasure of attending Chaye Alexander Presents: A Soulful Birthday Soirée at Chayz Lounge—and what a night it was! From start to finish, the evening was filled with soul, style, and the timeless party anthems of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. It truly felt like a fantastic voyage through the music of legends like Kool & The Gang, Zhané, Rick James, D’Angelo, Maxwell, and more.
A major highlight of the night was the unforgettable surprise appearance by Meli’sa Morgan. She graced the room with a heartfelt birthday serenade for Chaye Alexander, then blessed us with her iconic hit “Fool’s Paradise.” The entire lounge was electric—an experience none of us will soon forget.
The ambience was incredible—warm, stylish, intimate—everything you want for a grown and soulful night out. The food and drinks were equally exceptional. I ordered the Louisiana-Influenced Salmon & Grits, and it was absolutely delicious: a perfectly broiled 8 oz. salmon fillet over creamy stone-ground grits, topped with fresh tomato, red onion, parsley, and a blend of smoked Gouda and Cheddar Jack cheeses. Pure perfection! I paired it with Vellamo Spring Water and the Cherry Ginger Spritzer, a sweet, tart, bubbly mocktail with a zesty kick that delivered full flavor without the spirits. Both were refreshing and delightful.
I attended with my line sisters of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated—Zeta Theta Chapter, Fall ‘95 “The Seven Images of Finesse.” We celebrated our 30th Sigmaversary at Chayz Lounge, and it could not have been a more perfect backdrop for such a meaningful milestone. The atmosphere, the music, the service, and the overall experience made our reunion truly special.
Chayz Lounge continues to set the standard for sophisticated entertainment, outstanding cuisine, and unforgettable experiences. If you’re looking for a place that delivers excellence in every detail, this is it.

I have been patronizing Chayz Lounge since August 19,2017 (yes, I checked my calendar) when it was behind Nonnah’s. Why haven’t I written a review sooner? Mainly because I rarely write them – not a good excuse. Since I have been enjoying Chayz for so long, I guess you could say I love this place! How can I say that Chaye is a wonderful, articulate, and warm entrepreneur? Mnnn I just did. The shows are always superb, Augusta’s food is delicious, the waitstaff, Shay, Ashay, and Vivian are lovely, and the ambience is beautiful. Tonight’s show, food, and service were no exception. Everything was fabulous.

If you and your significant other want a night of adult relaxation with jazz and fine dining Chayz Lounge is the perfect place. From the owner to her wait staff is so hospitable. My husband and I enjoy our date nights at this location often. The entertainment of live music you can dance to while enjoying delicious food and drinks .

My husband and I love it here! I believe we started going in 2019, shortly after our arrival to SC. We try to go twice a year as we love the atmosphere, the soothing music and intimate setting. We would go more often however; it takes us over a hour to get there. Upon arrival , we are greeted with enthusiasm by Ms. Chayz and seated on their comfortable lounge sofa for two. With all the surgeries and medical challenges both my husband and I have had, this is the most comfortable. She doesn’t know that, as we look young and healthy, she just takes care of everyone to ensure they are comfortable.
Our server Shay with a S has waited on us several times. She’s amazing!! Definitely an A+ for customer service. She always gets an extra tip although we know the bill includes gratuity . The food; it’s very tasty however the entrees are limited. I’d love to see the entrees expanded if possible. We love the jerk chicken appetizer . The drink choices; perfect in my opinion. I’m not an alcohol drinker; maybe once or twice a year so I truly enjoy the Blue Note. Only one is needed; it does NOT dissapoint! We make sure the bar gets a big tip as well on our way out.
The entertainment is always stellar! We can’t complain. The live music always takes us back to our childhood and we reminisce . Before the evening is over, Ms. Chayz always makes her way to every patron to ensure everyone is having a good time. She’s a beautiful woman inside and out; we just love her.
I know some people complain about the prices. Yes; it can be expensive. We spent over $200 during our last visit. We aren’t wealthy but I tell you .. it’s worth it! Excellent customer service; tasty food, amazing drinks, live music in a comfortable intimate setting, makes a great date night. We are looking forward to returning. It’s already on our calendar for December. 😇

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful evening at Chayz Lounge this past Saturday, during the Intimate Evening of Dinner & Jazz with Play That Band. The atmosphere was elegant and the service was exceptional. Our tickets included dinner with the show. My wife had the Signature Lump crab cakes, which were amazing! The crab cakes came on a spring mix salad with julienne carrots. They were well portioned and full of fresh crab meat. My wife loved them.
I had the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms, which were also delicious. To put it simply, they were like having three crab cakes on top of mushroom caps with herbs and butter. This dish was simple but incredibly well executed.
Hospitality was exceptional, from the initial greeting, through service, and upon leaving after the show was complete. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to have a good time with live music and small bite delicious food.

My wife and I went for the first time (8-9-25) at Chaya Lounge. We loved the atmosphere of the live band-Groove Masters band. We were greeted by the owner and served by the great team as we dined. The venue’s decor enhanced the atmosphere for it all. We will definitely be back soon.
