We paid $10 to get a Lyft to this place only to find out it was closed. Google and the website said they were open. Big fail.

They looked like they had closed up.

This is a neighborhood brewery with great beer and a awesome outdoor seating area. It is all outdoors so prepare for the weather but the beer is great and they do have TVs for sports and usually have a food truck.

Really nice beers and great service.

This is an amazing little beer garden, with some of the best brews Columbia has to offer. The outside area is a little small with 10 picnic tables, which makes it a little hard to find seating, but it's not a deal breaker.

Nice outdoor space to have a refreshing beverage

Cottontown has quickly become the best brewery in Columbia. They weekly introduce new awesome beers (I mainly go for sours, of which they come up with truly inventive and amazing flavors) whereas other breweries around here have had the same beer on tap for years. Definitely come here if you’re looking to try something other than a boring lager!

Get the tropicarolina! It’s amazing for a juicy ipa.

I had the privilege of speaking with the head brewmaster during my visit, and he not only was very hospitable, but also really informative on the brewing process of each beer and the reason he chose certain ingredients. The beer was outstanding and I loved every one that I tried! The biergarten was a nice area that gave you the comforts of hanging out in someone’s backyard while enjoying a cold brew. I can’t wait to go back! I recommend the Pineapple Milkshake IPA and the Mango Milkshake IPA.

I've been to plenty of breweries throughout the Midwest and Southeast and unfortunately, this place needs some work. Supposedly they're getting some indoor seating which will be nice, as the picnic tables are lacking. But, I probably won't be going back. They had several beers on tap (not a terrible selection, but not a great one either) and I had a flight of four beers, all brewed in house. All four beers were flat as could be, and all four were way too sweetened. I think most people saying the beer is good are people who don't like traditional craft beer. Every beer I had, and all the beers my friends had, were basically alcoholic sugar water. If you want a good pint, find a pub, tavern, or brewery elsewhere. Unfortuantely, the beer was just plain bad in every respect, and the outdoor area left much to be desired.

If you’re into the brewery scene for the presentation and ambiance, this might not be your spot. But if you’re in it for high quality, genuinely crafted beer with flavor profiles you won’t find elsewhere, this is your spot! The small batch beers are amazing and the people are super friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to be back in Columbia to visit again!
