I ended up arbitrarily choosing this place before Covid when my parents came for a visit. It turned out to be the best BBQ buffet we ever had! Great selection. There was beer, and the cornbread was so good my Dad took some to go. He chatted with Doc and the 2 were like old buds . My Dad loved the set up. They tried coming back last year and it was closed . We really loved rhe simple set up, the service, and the prices were great too. The location was a bit out of the way.Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian options available on the BBQ buffet.
They have gone up a little on their prices, which is understandable (everything is going up), but the quality is the same and the food, in my opinion, is very good. They have a very good selection and the catfish is very good. Their bar be que is also pretty good, a must try again in my opinion is the hash and rice, they make it the way it supposed to be made.
Great buffet! Country style food that includes fish, shrimp, and three types of pulled pork barbecue (Western NC - ketchup based, Eastern NC or Pee Dee - vinegar based, and SC - mustard based).
Y'all..Doc's staff is amazing and the food is SOO good!! I got there late, not knowing they closed at 3:00 and the staff was SO obliging! Not once did anyone say, "Lady, we are closed!" I declare of God made anything better than their fried fish, collards and Mac 'n cheese, He kept it for himself!!!

Large variety of Southern dishes on the menu. Everything is delicious!
Used to be really good. Not so much anymore. Too much artificial smoke flavor in the meat (pork). Their collards used to be excellent. Now they seem like they could be from a can? The cobblers used to be consistently good. Today it was not. I will say though that the hash is still really good. Just be careful of undercooked rice if you like to eat the hash with rice. I got some crunchy rice today.
Almost everything I tried was very good, wish there was more types of bbq meat (only pulled pork this day). However, the fried chicken and catfish were excellent.

I got the buffet, and the food was mostly dry, or flavorless. I don't like wasting food, but I couldn't even stomach some of the items I got. The baked chicken was so dry it took me like 2 minutes to chew and hurt my jaw. I heard their stuff you order outside of the buffet was good, but I just called to order and they told me that i have to come in to order. Like what??? Get with the times. Let me call an order in and come pick it up. Update your Google too. It says on it that there are easy call in orders like 1 meat and 2 sides. Seems super lazy to me to just leave it like that. Their Mac and cheese so awful. Like did they not think to season it? I hate to rate them like this, but they have to have better food than that for that price.
