Met some friends today for lunch here and had the famous southern treat - tomato pie! Split the chicken over broccoli salad with a friend. The caramel cupcake was delicious- moist and decadent! The Happy Cafe is a really lovely locally owned cafe- we will be back!

On Monday Feb. 10 my wife and I were looking for a lunch place we had never been to in the Free Times Bites & Sights magazine. Ray's Diner on Two Notch was dirty on the outside, Pebbles on Rosewood was a dark beer joint, so we drove to Happy Cafe and it was closed due to refrigerator was broken. We eventually went to Creekside Cafe where we live in Lexington SC. Bob and Mary Anne Britts

So I've never been to this place. But a co-worker brought me the caramel cake as a thank you gift and OH MY WORD. It was to die for! I don't have a clue what else they sell, but the caramel cake is out of this world!

We've got a lot of great places for Italian fare in Kansas City -- but this is easily the best I've had in Johnson county. The food is excellent, the decor is attractive, and the location is especially convenient when I don't want to go far from home.Don't let the fact that this place is attached to a hotel fool you -- it's well worth a visit.

This was my first time dining in the restaurant as I usually have a Togo order. The atmosphere is delightful and so are the staff. The open kitchen is a major plus and the fresh baked goods on display welcome you in. I ordered my usual, the salad with chicken salad and the dill dressing. My dad ordered the half tuna sandwich and cup of shrimp corn chowder. The shrimp corn chowder was creamy. Uses fresh and not over cooked shrimp and was seasoned well. I've never had shrimp soup but I would have finished it all but it was on dad's plate lol. My salad used a variety of lettuce, grape tomatoes and quartered cucumber. The dill dressing is reduced fat and I would bet they make it in house. The chicken salad is primarily shredded chicken and minimal mayo just how I like it. I'll be back for more!

We tried the chicken salad, a sandwich and soup today. All were delicious and tasted fresh. The dill dressing and hummus were new tasty favors. The cookies and cupcake were delicious too. We will definitely be back again for lunch.
So much love for this place!!! It is a small and unique. They have such a friendly atmosphere. You feel right at home. The food is delicious! And I LOVE that they are environmentally friendly, even down to the recyclable straws! They have a couple of coolers that you can purchase home made soups, pasta sauces, and other meals. Must do place to eat!
