Immaculately clean little place. Get the Ethiopian coffee! Avocado salad was essentially a guacamole. The red spicy lentils are excellent, as is the injera bread. We had the vegetarian sampler platter and that plus the appetizers was enough. Also, ask for the honey mead, as another reviewer noted-not on menu.
Very very delicious food. I love that they have an entire vegan section and GLUTEN FREE ineja! I really enjoyed the tofu nibs and the vegan shirowat. Great combo and more than enough for 2-3 servings. And they have Mango juice! Yum!The only reason for the 4 stars is the quality of the takeout containers. Most of them leaked into the bag before they arrived. It was a bit messy.
Best food you will eat! The food is well prepared and flavored just right. Everything on the menu is good! The coffee is roasted in house and definitely some of the best you will ever have- full of flavor and not too bitter.
I loved it. Truly don't let the outside look of the building fool and or deter you. The food is delicious.I started with veggie samosas; - the dough was flaky but not dry. The seasoning was perfect, a tad spicy, on the mild sideTo drink: I ordered to start Mango juice. No sugar added.Main course: the Harambe Special - trust me, enough for 2 persons, served with injera bread. It was a large serving that included: non spicy and spicy beef, curry chicken, spicy lentils, cabbage and collards, chicken drumstick.Dessert: I had their Baklava. It comes out warm. Oh my word, paired with the Ethiopian coffee - perfection.I will definitely be back.
Started dreaming of my return, as we drove away. The food is some of the best Ethiopian I've eaten...and I've eaten lots! My favorites are always the greens and the lentils, and these were superior. The atmosphere is typical - in a good way. Worth driving to Columbia, from Augusta!!
The Harambe Special is by far my favorite dish. It’s enough for two maybe three people depending on how much yours looking to eat. The environment is super relaxing. It’s by far my families favorite restaurant in Columbia.
I don't live here but this is my new favorite restaurant. The food is incredibly unique and delicious. This should be one of the busiest restaurants in town but it was almost deserted the evening we went. Please try it. I can't wait to bring my wife here on our next trip.
I cannot say enough amazing things about the food. Don't miss this incredible gem off the beaten path. If you're unfamiliar with Ethiopian food, or are a little scared of something different, just take the plunge. The server was super kind and told me about each dish. Don't miss it if you're passing through Columbia!
A humble little place with great service. We had the veggie platter and the beef tibs. The mango juice was amazing and I’m not really a mango fan but I wanted to give it a try. It was smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. The veggie combo was good although I was expecting more spices. The collard greens were my least favorite. The beef tibs were nice and tender per my partner, but required a little salt.
The vegetable platter was amazing! So tasty and enough food for two. Delicious vegan options. I recommend the Potato Samosas which were savory and served with a sweet and spicy sauce.

This place was surprisingly great. Food was very tasty, staff was great and price was reasonable.
Awesome food and service. My wife and I split the veggie combo and meat combo and everything was great. The place is simple but with nice Ethiopian art and colors. It's also a huge amount of food for the money.
Delicious good, generous portions, kind and friendly staff. You will never go wrong choosing Ethiopian food!!
I've gotten food from here many times. It's always delicious and fulfilling. I don't eat a lot of meat, but that's no problem here. They have the veggie platter which has the injera covered in lentils, cabbage, greens, and some other yummy veggie sides. I honestly order that as my entree and then I'm eating good for a few meals after. The samosas are my other favorite, and they are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with flavor. And that sauce!! I could dip anything in that sauce they come with. Harambe has excellent food that reminds me of soul food (for obvious reasons), which makes it feel familiar and like home.
The chicken curry was great. I love that they have a non spicy option for me. Very delicious food and their sweet tea is great.
