We had a very enjoyable experience overall. The atmosphere was nice, the service was attentive, and the food quality was excellent. Everything came out fresh and cooked just right. We ordered the New York strip and the ribeye. Both steaks were high-quality cuts and cooked perfectly to our requested temperature, tender, juicy, and prepared well. However, they were noticeably under-seasoned. The lack of seasoning took away from the overall flavor, and the steaks would have been much better with a more generous and balanced seasoning. With stronger seasoning, this would easily be a five-star meal. Overall, we still enjoyed our visit and would definitely return, but we hope the kitchen adds more flavor to their steaks next time.

We had a party of 11 that visited Columbia, SC and we chose Hendrix to have dinner before our show. It was a great decision. We had great meals, really good drinks and the service was really good. So good that after the comedy show we ended up back at Hendrix to enjoy the rooftop. It's a really good place to lounge on the rooftop and great for dinner.

I was really looking forward to trying Hendrix after seeing great reviews on Facebook. I travel here once a month for work and was excited to have a new spot to add to my routine.
Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I sat at the bar and was completely ignored for several minutes. The bartender was making drinks for a couple, which I understood, but she didn’t even acknowledge me. After finishing, she walked away. I was about to leave when she finally dropped off a menu without saying a word — no greeting, no water, nothing.
When she came back, she asked what I wanted to drink. I asked if she could make a flavored tea, and she said no, so I ordered water. I decided on the stuffed quail with dirty rice and greens.
A gentleman sat to my right, and it was clear she knew him. She brought him water and started chatting. Soon two of his friends joined, and her full attention was on their group. She eventually brought my food — which was actually really good — but that was the last I heard from her until I asked for my check. My water glass stayed empty while she refilled theirs; I finally had to ask another waitress for a refill.
The food was delicious, but the service made me feel unwelcome. Even the hostess didn’t say goodbye when I left. I was so excited to try this place, but after how I was treated, I don’t think I’ll be back.
$52 wasted — because customer service means more to me than good food. I even left a note on the receipt that said, “If you were more attentive, I would’ve left a much larger tip.

I never leave reviews so I hate to do this because the staff was fine, but all parts of my meal were awful. The cabbage rolls said they were going to be ground beef, there’s no way that meat was anywhere close to being ground beef. It was the toughest and hardest and weirdest log meat I’ve ever seen. The burrata bread was cold with no flavor. The half chicken was undercooked and gross. And then the Brussels tasted like they came out of a Steamfresh bag. We liked our beer and wine. We are never the type of people to not pay for our meal so we paid and our waitress got her full tip but I have no words for that experience- because it was that unpleasant.

My friend and I tried a number of different things. I had the brussel sprouts and the shimeji mushroom toast. The sprouts were good but the shimeji toast was DELICIOUS. They brought you your food, but you had to go up to get your drinks. We went to the rooftop bar; and, despite it being packed (and a game day), you could still relax and chat without having to scream.
