Higher Grounds is a cozy, comfortable, little treasure with delicious beverages and yummy food! One of my FAVORITE places in Columbia to "get away" in the middle of the day to rejuvenate.

The atmosphere is electric. It is cozy and very comfortable where you can read, do a puzzle, play board games, and so forth. You can't forget hot chocolate, tea, coffee, smoothie, milk shake, and more. The ladies are very friendly.

The space is so inviting and I really wanted to like it but it was terrible coffee. My husband had dark roast black and I had a latte and we both tossed them out.

We stopped in this charming coffee shop for a quick lunch and chat. It’s quiet, clean and cozy. They have premade sandwiches and chips available for grab and go.

Ashleigh is the best server ever!!!!!!!!! Tonight is a rainy night in Chapin, and my family and I came in for some burgers and beer. Ashleigh was so welcoming and warming and she gave us the best recommendations and incredible service. Godspeed Ashleigh.

A great little coffee shop with delightful people running it. It was probably the best cup of coffee I had in town.

Cute concept. Nice physical setting with a clean space and comfy seating, as well as a small book and card section, which is a nice draw if you’re looking for that sort of thing. Mostly religious. I wasn’t aware they were part of a church. I am in town for work from out of state. However, the negative outweighs that little positive. I was greeted with scrutinizing looks by staff and customers alike when I walked in the door, then approached by a lady who I didn’t know worked here, as she was sitting at a table with other people and seemed bothered by having to get up and help an actual customer. Then, when I sat at a table and pulled out my laptop, the same lady approached me and rudely said “we close in a little over an hour”, then walked away. Almost as if to say “don’t get too comfortable”…nope, wouldn’t want that! They list their closing time at 5pm. It was 3:45.I didn’t try any of their food items, however the iced latte that I (kinda) had was one of the worst I have ever tasted. If I did live locally, I would definitely never be back.

A cozy cafe connected to a church. Short walk away from Prisma Health. The ladies that served me KNEW their coffee. They got great recommendations. They have quick bites prepared: sandwhiches, salads, cracker and veggie cups, etc. Advertised using Boar's Head meats [Good stuff]. If I'm in the area I'm definitely going again.

Vegetarian options: They have almond and I think oat milk for their cafe drinks. They don't add a charge for the substitution either! Grab and go salads, hummus w/veggie sticks, etc.
