The bartender was on our back before we even fully walked into the restaurant. It was obvious she was not having a good day and does not have any children. I would definitely reconsider having her as a person to greet people at the restaurant. We have always had a great experience here with children. We have brought toys and snacks and scooters when we come to dine and drink here and nothing has ever been a problem. Today we came here after the St. Patrick’s parade with two children around noon and brought a kickball and a scooter and instead of greeting us when we walked up, the bartender just told my daughter not to use her scooter in the building. That was fine. I picked up the scooter and grabbed a menu. Then the other child with us dropped the kickball and the same female bartender told her not to bounce the ball in the building. we kept looking at the menus. Then different children that we did not know came up to the restaurant with their parents and the same female bartender said for them to not run. I’ve never experienced something like this before here. It’s obvious that the children were not welcome so we put the menus back and left and ordered pizza at home. I live pretty close to here and we have always enjoyed it, but this experience really turned us off because our children were not being unruly by any means. We had literally just walked up but the bartender obviously did not like children being there. I hope they made enough money today from people without children. I guess people with children aren’t supposed to enjoy anything on the weekends. The bartender has the day she deserves because she really messed up ours.

The place needs a vibe manager, at least play some music or something. Hummus needed salt and more flavor, my wife’s pasta special had good flavor but was luke warm at best, shrimp and grits were average. Beers were average. People were nice, so that’s a plus.

Food was the only downside. It was all very poor. Just tasteless . If you just go for drinks, all is well

My annual work trip to Columbia has a secret mission - a pilgrimage to Hunter Gatherer for their shrimp and grits. Want to know a secret? I don’t usually like shrimp and grits, but I LOVE their shrimp and grits. Service is impeccable and personable. The experience is worth dealing with local parking which I would classify as doable but not immediate.
For those bacon lovers among us, get the shrimp and grits.

This review is for their other establishment "The Hanger" at Owens Field.
My experience today, Aug 10, 24, was like being at a Chuck E Cheese. I'm not sure who to blame for all the children running and screaming out of control, the parents (ultimately), Heathwood Hall for having an event (without permission from the establishment) or The Hanger for allowing this to continue. The Hanger is a brewery not a McDonald's and they need not to allow parties for children or at least parties that haven't been scheduled and set aside in designated areas. Shame on the parents for allowing their children to run around and disturbing paying customers. Shame on Heathwood School for setting up an event without permission from the establishment and shame on the establishment for not kicking them out. It was rude and disrespectful to the staff and customers!!'

Came here for a casual date night and had an excellent experience! The steak was delicious and the server was friendly. Tried a cocktail and a flight of beers, which were made and presented well! Will definitely come back.

They don't even have their name on the building. It looked like an abandoned place. No one greets you at the door. All tables are dirty. Their many doesn't have many choices on it. So its a No for us. Would not recommend.
