Really didn’t know what to expect going into this place but it was great. We were seated and waited on immediately. I had the Russell & Russell which was a home run & the rest of the table had patty melts which they liked.
Pickings are pretty slim around the stadium so I’m glad we have this gem.

I have seen this place my entire life growing up. I finally went and saw that I had been missing out. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. However, it was a slow lunch day, and the staff was very slow and not quick to take orders or to offer refills.
Will I try it again?? Absolutely, with food and great beer selections, I will come back eventually.

Update since I can't reply to owner
No ma'am the only fries replaced were my bf and my daughter bc they got sweet potato fries and they weren't aware it had cinnamon sugar on them. They refused to give them sweet potato fries without that so brought regular fries which aren't good for diabetics. The rest of us had hard cold fries which was NOT replaced. We never got refills on our drinks. New staff is no excuse to not be able to handle one table, esp with more than one waitress attending to our table.
First off I would have left zero stars had there been an option. The food here was not all that great. The fries were burnt and cold on 4 of our plates. The service was crappy, most of us never got refills and it took us repeatedly asking for condiments for them to even bring it to us. It took 3 girls to get our order split up on receipts and they still couldn't get it right and had to change it at least 4 times . We were the only table in there at the time so it should not have been that difficult to get good service

We love Alyssa and the Maddy’s. Fun place to watch the games. His & Hers band on Saturdays are a favorite. And you can’t beat the drink specials. $15 mimosa pitchers? Yes please. Love my LV girl, Jenny, who is a fun and spunky owner. It’s become our second home. Love the new Sunday brunches too!!!
Location is good, interior layout and design is nice. The staff are always welcoming - service is mixed based on who you get. Food is definitely not good. Menu reads great - we have tried 4 times and tried to order different things. Chicken salad is made with a heavy mustard ratio, fried green tomatoes are cut too thick and not cooked right- the batter is bad. Homemade chips - some are cooked and some are not cooked.
Fries are greasy. If you like beer cheese - this one is for you, they put it in everything. Quesadillas and Nachos with beer cheese 🤷🏻♀️. Sweet potato fries are dipped in cinnamon sugar… so that was interesting but not good. I could keep going through the menu but it’s a no from us. We tried multiple times and now we won’t be back. **drinks are good.
J’s Corner is definitely a mixed bag. In terms of the ambiance, setup, and location, it’s one of the best restaurants in Columbia. I love how wide open the floor plan is, and how they have so many TVs in your sight line. It’s also a great place to see live music on a nice day, and seems like a great place to take your kids and let them run around.
Having said that, the food and drink at J’s leave a good bit to be desired. The mozzarella sticks I got were below average, and reminded me of the ones from a grocery store deli, not a sit-in restaurant. The chicken tenders were solid but unspectacular, and the fries were simply not very good.
I also got a vodka pineapple to drink, which distaste’s more like water than vodka or pineapple.
In all, J’s gets a 5/5 for ambiance, and a (generous) 2/5 for food and drink.
I work nearby, so J's is a great spot for a quick workday lunch. It is also a great spot on the weekends, and especially during football season! There is a good variety of food, and you just have to figure out what you like there. I like their unique chicken tenders and their wraps are solid.
Good food, fun atmosphere. They had a band playing outside. Good for dates or family
