This Kroger is about 5min from an Airbnb I booked in the area, with it being the nearest to the residence I'm staying at I phoned their bakery in advance to see if they sold cookie cakes. Sure enough, they do! I was told they need 24 hours notice and I called back a few weeks later to place my order. My son doesn't like cake very much but he loves cookie cakes. The gal I spoke to on the phone was always super sweet and helpful. My cookie cake was ready when I arrived, although she'd be off the next day she made it before she left the day prior.I'm very grateful to have secured exactly what I wanted within such a close proximity to me. My son was grateful to enjoy it at a little picnic we shared at Fort Jackson for friends & family day.I'll admit the reviews had me a bit worried, so in normal Candace fashion I ordered a second cookie cake from Publix down the road just in case. Totally not needed but now we have two.Everyone at this store seemed kind and friendly. Self check out was a breeze. I picked up several toiletries and they even carry our favorite water, Mountain Valley sparkling which I usually purchase at Erewhon or Whole Foods (at home in Los Angeles). Spotted Blue Bell ice-cream which I'll totally be back for. I see no issues with this older Kroger but my needs for a visit may differ from yours. Their bakery service is 5 STAR.

This store needs a complete overhaul from friendly personnel to appearance. I've been going there for 20 years because it is close but just got back from there and as I was checking out one of the cashier's got in my face and said I was disrespectful for "grabbing" my receipt from another cashier. I said what do you mean I took the receipt. I believe he wanted me at 72 years old to try and fight him. I'm not racist but the store is 90% black and that kind of behavior isn't good for customer approval. They are just there for paycheck and don't care about customers throughout the whole store.

I recently relocated to South Carolina and my first experience with Kroger her in Columbia has left me angry and disappointed. I ordered groceries from Kroger and paid them $150 in good faith. I received a message my groceries were delivered and found they were not delivered to me. Kroger uses instacart for their delivery vendor and upon contacting them was advised the groceries were not delivered to my address. I asked them to resend the groceries and was told they couldn’t it was not their policy to redeliver misdirected orders but to process a refund in 7-10 business days. So me the customer is left with no money, no groceries and no compassion. I reached out to Kroger and got the same sentiment. Well bottom line, single mom, two kids left with no groceries the week of Christmas!! Kroger you care about your community??? Shame on you!!!

As long as Thaddeus the Grill Master is around I will never grill ribs again. Seriously. He’s the manager at Kroger and singlehanded, he beat out every other Kroger in his district including Aiken. He has grilling down to a science.

No, I would not recommend shopping at Kroger, and I have been a loyal customer for 20+ years, not today I wouldn't, not at the Kroger Marketplace (1028 Roberts Branch Pkwy, Columbia, SC).

The people at this location are always so friendly and smiley. This store has good prices and some really good sales sometimes. If you need to use the restroom, wait until you get home.

Really beginning to piss me off - needed to get wic none of registers open only self check out which you can’t get wic on - so I’m told registers don’t open until about 7:10/7:15 so I ended up having to pay for the milk because I really needed it, my daughter was out - I come back another day it’s like 7:50 am and still no at registers only self check out - I go to customer service and to try and get my items rung up I’m told they don’t open until 8am - then I go back to customers service and I’m told they cage ring in wic at customer service -work on your customer service please - other than this bad experience I loved this store as far as prices and quality/variety
