I recently visited Mariscos Jalisco at 1803 Decker Blvd in Columbia, SC, and it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was transported to Mexico. The atmosphere, with its authentic decorations, music, and vibrant ambiance, truly made me feel like I was in Jalisco.

The food was incredible—delicious, flavorful, and true to its roots. One standout aspect was their commitment to authenticity, even in the beverages they serve. Instead of typical fountain drinks, they offer authentic Mexican drinks like Jarritos and Mexican Coca-Cola, which added to the genuine experience.

Our waitress was extremely friendly and very helpful, which enhanced our dining experience. However, it's worth noting that the full menu was in Spanish. While this added to the authenticity for me as a Spanish speaker, I wonder if non-Spanish speakers might miss out on some of the nuances of the experience. Regardless, the staff's friendliness and willingness to help likely make it a pleasant visit for everyone.

Overall, if you want a true taste of Mexico in Columbia, Mariscos Jalisco is the place to go. It offers an authentic, immersive experience that is rare to find in the U.S.

Best place to get authentic Mexican food. I can guarantee you won’t find anything better. My family and I come here all the time and the atmosphere is very welcoming and the food is always great.

This place can definitely do better. The beans are so watery with no taste, the queso is runny with a weird taste. The lady I guess who runs it did not show much interest at all and was sooo lazy she had her only 2 waitress working pretty much doing everything. I asked for a bag that she clearly could have gotten up to give me but had one of the other already busy young ladies do it I dont know that just did not sit well with me. And the menu...lord don't even get me started they dont have one might as well say. Only thing listed was tacos and quesdillas and another item it was just awful and i will never return my business there. They need to put some TLC in that place it definitely has potential and they need to fire that cook in the back!! Or teach him how to make the food better.

I ordered 2 shrimp cocktails which by the way didn't have anything cocktails! I had to throw them in the trash... I paid $40 and something dollars! Very bad SERVICE! I won't go again! Best EL PRIMO COCKTAILS.

Happy to review, amazing NEW place! Ordered 7MARES seafood, large Modelo! Brand new furniture, pool table, two large tvs with music videos and a pretty large bar! Amazing service from a happy and sweet waitress! Absolutely beautiful afternoon, with nice people and a great family atmosphere! Laughter rang in the air, even in Spanish was refreshing!
