Well, Pawleys’ staff- I don’t know about the owner- definitely find it difficult to welcome people who come from different parts of the world. The other tables were attended frequently but I was left unattended. I had to request at the reception to ask if there was something wrong. I don’t know why but I was left wondering if something was off— there were few visitors. Nobody said anything or did something but the energy spoke, gaze spoke and above all THE EMOTIONS SPOKE. Please let us know earlier if all people are not welcomed so that we can respect ourselves.

First time dining here, came with friends ! Nice laid back atmosphere, food was good . I actually don't like sweet potato fries, but tried one ,and OMG... there are the only ones I would eat. I ordered some to go .. Lol.. and food was priced reasonable .

Their burgers were good.

Sad they were out of fried green tomatoes, since that’s why I went there, but the zucchini fries were excellent and the buffalo shrimp tacos were pretty good. Service was fantastic.

The taste of the burger was good, but the bun felt a little hard, as if it was days old. However, I appreciated that the fries were freshly fried

As a lifer in the Service industry, I rarely go out to eat, much less leave a negative review. Reason being is because my son has a dairy allergy and I know the stress it can cause a restaurant. However, my family from VA came into town to celebrate my son’s birthday and wanted to go out to lunch in light of that fact . We chose Pawley’s for the occasion because we had been there in the past and enjoyed our time. As a fellow restaurant manager, the first thing I asked the staff was the ability to get a dairy free burger. They checked the buns to make sure and they were dairy free. They did warn that the grill has the chance to cross contaminate but they would clean it thoroughly to accommodate. We were willing to take that risk since the info had been communicated on several levels. We proceeded with our order. However, about 25 minutes after we placed our order, we were then informed by our server that they didn’t feel safe making the burger. Despite the fact that it had been communicated several times. Once to the hostess, once to the server, and once to the kitchen as well. I asked for the manager. Upon filling in the manager of the situation, instead of saying sorry he just blamed his kitchen manager because he refused to make it. I then asked if they had a stove top where a burger could be cooked on a skillet. The FOH manager said yes. After he went to the back to talk to the BOH manager, he informed me that he refused YET AGAIN because ‘the stove top area was being used for prep.’ In a situation like this, where communication was clear from entering the door, it would make most sense to just make room on the stove top and accommodate a burger that would take less than 10 minutes to cook. Instead, me and my 6 very hungry family members had to walk down the corner to publico to eat. Terrible, terrible look for this place. I vow never to return. I will tell everyone to avoid as well.

My Fiance and I came here for date night. The server Brandon was AWSOME!!! I got the fried chicken sandwich, and my Fiance got the Kiawah burger. Both were excellent.

Absolutely enjoyed this place! Food was phenomenal, especially the fried oysters and the Beaufort Burger. I will definitely be back!

First off, they didn't have chicken tenders and wraps which I come here for the chicken wrap. Which we weren't told until after we ordered drinks. I would have left but decided to give the burger a try. Big mistake! None of our Burgers were cooked as ordered. Burgers were flavorless. Ordered onion rings with my burger and was given THREE small onion rings and told that was company policy. Just go ahead and close down. This place isn't worth the money.

Ate here for the first time with daughter and son in law. It was a Tuesday night, place was almost empty. Hostess/waitress was friendly and up beat. The cook, Cliff came and spoke with us about the burgers. He wasn’t kidding they were GREAT. My daughter had the sullivans burger and son in law had the pimento cheese burger (forgot the actual name). I had the shrimp po boy and that was amazingly good as well. Definitely will come again.

Not impressed. Diners, Drive-ins and Dives must've caught this place at it's heyday. I asked for a medium well burger, got a well done. What I got wasn't phenomenal and I've easily had better for cheaper. Fries were meh; onion rings were decent but not spectacular.

I saw the manager and said 'nice jacket' as he was wearing a festive jacket and he didn't even respond ( I have a voice that carries). He seemed more interested in drinking with his buddies than greeting patrons and ensuring service quality.

Place was deserted on a Sunday evening at 530. Should've guessed it by that observation.
