I usually go to Pearls once a year because I live far from the place. I love the one in Charleston so when I found out it was one in Columbia I was very happy. This year for my birthday 3/29 we went and the oysters had sand and small pieces of shell in them. I sent 2 orders back and just decided I no longer wanted any oysters. Even though that was my only intention to eat as many oysters as I could. Definitely won’t be going back.

Great food at Pearlz, music playing while eating is so nice., Great staff. Our waitress Gabby was so pleasant and so attentive to EVERYTHING we needed. Thank u for a great experience. Oysters, calamari, linguini seafood, clams and Brussels sprouts were so tasty and good.
My boyfriend and I went here on a date, and at first everything went smoothly. We were sat quickly, drinks and app came fast, and then we sat more…for an hour. We ordered two shrimp tacos and a house salad (no meat or add-ons) so we were pretty surprised by how long it took. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, and our order was extremely simple so we were honestly just shocked by the wait. The food was extremely sub-par, and I’ve never seen a house salad without shredded cheese. The roasted potatoes were totally soft, and really poorly flavored. The fried oysters were fine, but nothing particularly notable. All in all, the service and atmosphere were fine, but a long wait time and mediocre food doesn’t make it worth the price.

Everything was going well at Pearlz until my boyfriend discovered hair in his food (ribs). The shrimp linguine was a little on the dry side. Our server was good for the most part, although we thought she was offering us dessert in lieu of the hair mishap; instead, we were charged for it. The appetizer (fried oysters) and drinks were the best during this dine-in experience. Overall, after having to take someone else’s hair out of your mouth during dinner, it just ruins everyone’s appetite.
