I’ve been coming here for years, but I won’t be back. They changed their ice cream. It’s the fake ice dream or whatever you call it. The ice cream with less fat and no flavor. It tasted like the machine hadn’t been cleaned and it wasn’t creamy whatsoever. Had my child not been with me I would have asked for a refund. It wasn’t creamy whatsoever so disgusting. If you are going to dramatically change your ice cream recipe from soft serve to imitation soft serve you can’t charge the same. Awful. This was the only place in town to get soft serve. Incredibly disappointing.

There is something very eerie and unsettling about this place. We ordered a banana split & the girl scoffed and acted like we were ***holes for even thinking about it. Asked for strawberry, or chocolate, and she stated they only had vanilla. What dairy place only has ONE flavor? Glared at us the whole time. Very strange energy. 0/10.

What happened to this place?? They used to be so good. I was eating here frequently for years and then recently they completely changed for the worse.
To be honest I’m not even convinced that I’m being served ice cream. I’m not sure what this icy mixture is but I sure hope it doesn’t kill me lol. They call it vanilla but it tastes like a banana that was dipped in one of the Chernobyl reactors.

Since the new owners this place has gone way downhill. The ice cream doesn’t even taste like ice cream anymore. The chocolate dip they dipped my ice cream in was light brown and nasty. Avoid this place like the plague so you won’t be disappointed

Im from Florida and heard great things about this place however the customer service was terrible to me and my family , lets just say if Dairy Queen was located here I would rather spend my money there 👎 ice cream was completely watered down in 5 minutes

Ice cream was a big fail for me at this location. Went for soft serve ice cream and it was not the same soft serve that I grew up with. Highly disappointed in their so called soft serve ice cream. Very friendly folks, just their soft serve is not my cup of tea, so to speak.

I’ve been here once before with my family and had a great experience years ago. Unfortunately, today was the complete opposite. The customer service was terrible rude and unprofessional. The ice cream tasted absolutely awful. For a place calling itself “The Dairy Bar “ there didn’t seem to be any real dairy involved. It was artificial and just plain gross and only had vanilla flavored.
I spent $25 and walked away completely disappointed. Honestly, something feels off about this place now it gives off a strange, almost sinister vibe. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone and truly think it needs to be looked into.
The ice cream is so disgusting now, my goodness. It’s texture is like frozen ice. The flavor is straight up gross- closer to warm milk than vanilla. It tastes like it has some sugar alternative product in it. I don’t mind diet soda but in ice cream this tastes gross. I can tell this place is going downhill despite its average rating on google. This is because the amount of passive aggressive signs out front essentially yelling at the customer if they complain about their food. That ice cream cone was so gross it essentially sealed the deal that I will never come back.
I am honestly convinced the owner of this place is allergic to making money. They could have so many small improvements like more toppings better hours better ice cream etc. Oh well…
By the way- in my opinion the soft serve sold at carolina baseball games is the best in town and personally the best I have ever had. Do yourself a favor and get it next time you’re there especially (Reese's or oreos 😁)

The place is in disrepair and probably hasn’t been fixed up since the Bush administration. Overpriced mediocre food that is beat out by almost everywhere else in Columbia. I ordered a dipped cone and there was a fly in the butterscotch.
If it weren’t for the name, this place would close within 3 months. Please save your money and go anywhere else.
