Love this place. You can't eat in since covid but that's fine with me, you just have to do takeout. The owner is incredibly nice and the food is authentic and tasty. It is a little pricier than some of the competition in columbia but I come here anyway for the atmosphere and the taste. I speak a little japanese due to being half taiwanese myself so i always make sure to greet the owner in japanese and I stay very respectful. she always seems to appreciate it and is incredibly nice as a result. As long as you are calm and respectful the staff responds very warmly to you. Will always love this place.

For a small, quaint sushi house, ran by 2 people, it had the most amazing food. Service was wonderful as well. The gyoza appeared to be freshly made, was fried beautifully, and absolutely delicious. The tuna tataki was light, flavorful, and very fresh. The miso was packed full of flavor. Every bite of sushi was perfection. Definitely a must-go if you're in the area. They are trying to do reservations only, so recommend calling ahead. We were lucky enough to be able to walk in and get a seat, but they filled up quickly.

This place was interesting. Yiu cant dine in but with reservation. They do walk out, the staff does not engage with you at all. The sushi was...okay. It's 6 pieces instead of 8, for the same price in my opinion. I dont know, I've had better in the Cola area believe it or not...

I have no idea where these good reviews are coming from. Absolute worst Asian/Chinese food I’ve had. Sushi was bland and not fresh. Spring rolls were slimy. Yakisoba and udon were no better. Definitely don’t recommend.

Disclaimer: I have not been able to eat here yet but I really want to, enough to make this review on the off chance this actually gets seen by them because it is impossible to contact them other than calling the place.Sushi Yoshi has no official website, and even their Facebook page is an auto-generated "page" which is just a bunch of posts FB put together because people checked in or mentioned eating there. Going there physically and asking for a menu and how to find their website/if they had one confused the woman working there and ended up giving my husband a paper order slip which listed the names of the sushi rolls but not the descriptions. The price looks very affordable and the food looks good from people's pictures but with nobody that can understand or speak English well enough to clearly communicate available (not that it's her fault but it legitimately hurts business), how are customers supposed to be able to eat here? This is a huge problem here in SC, many non-chain restaurants like this have no website and barely a working Facebook page. After having to try multiple menu websites I find that Grubhub has the most comprehensive one. Grubhub!! How can a delivery service that rips off small restaurants like this have a better/more accessible menu than the place itself? This is a huge issue not only about the food, but for business hours and stuff. During the pandemic everyone's actual hours are all messed up from what Google says they apparently are. This has to be hurting their business if not keeping the customers at a trickle. From what my husband said it sounded like the woman was telling him they weren't doing takeout but only reserved seating in-house dining. Now obviously that can't be right but if someone is going to hear that and think the same thing my husband did then they're losing customers!Again it is ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL to have a FUNCTIONAL OFFICIAL WEBSITE that they can communicate their hours, full menu, and dining options for the pandemic. It doesn't have to be pretty just please make one, for the love of God and your business.

I’ve been visiting Sushi Yoshi with my family since we moved here almost 25 years ago. Their food is always perfect and the staff is so friendly. Don’t miss this spot, if you’re looking for affordable and authentic Japanese cuisine with a charming atmosphere in Columbia.

This is one of my favorite places in Columbia. It's not the fanciest, but the food is absolutely delicious and super cheap. Chicken Don Buri is 10/10 and I don't know anywhere else you can get hibachi that good for the price.
