What a cool, quirky food/bar spot! The ambiance is great and the food and drinks are EXCELLENT! The Philly and fries were OUTSTANDING, and the hush puppies were great, too! Got their seasonal Fallgarita as well and couldn’t be happier. If you want some vegan grub in Columbia, this is the place. Look no further! ❤️

Was passing through Columbia on a road trip and discovered this absolute gem of a restaurant. I can’t stop thinking about it the hoot sandwich. Also A to any vegan restaurant open on a Monday. I will be going out of my way to visit this place again

Fully vegan menu with plenty of options. We had the Hoot sandwich and the fried chicken Caesar wrap. Both were delicious.

Love the cocktails, the decor, the appetizers, but the bomb is the burger fries! They have a variety of different burgers, but instead of getting it on a bun, you can get the toppings on cheese fries! 🤯 Where has this been all my life?! Amazing!

Grateful to have a delicious plant based place open on a Sunday and they are open late. (They also have brunch on Sun until 2.) I got the house hoot sandwich- made with tofu and rad cabbage slaw with spicy ginger sauce that was great. It took me a moment because the slaw was cold but with the warm sandwich and tofu and warm fries it went well together. Hubby got the Philly and he does not like onions so it was nice that the peppers were not pre-mixed with the onions he would rate the sandwich a 4/5. My daughter who usually does not like any meat substitutes actually liked the veg-fil-a she said she would give it a 4/5. The fries were delicious. Prices were great for the taste and quantity of food. We don’t eat out much so it was worth it, upper end of our price point. Staff very friendly and nice. Gentleman that met us today was new x 2 weeks but checked in with the us to make sure we had what we needed. Seating area cozy and nice for a family or date night . Outdoor seating as well. Loved The hours. It allowed us to do what we wanted to do around the area and still have a good meal and not feel rushed. Yum! Edited to add we also got a slice of the chocolate cake for a birthday. It was very moist and delicious, Very nice and not overly done frosting. And it was enough for three of us to share.

This was my second time here and unfortunately my last. We were here for all of ten minutes this evening before I was promptly told by our server “yeah you gotta go”, for bringing in my own drink because I don’t drink alcohol when she brought our food to the table. She snatched my drink from my hand and brought it to the kitchen to throw out and let me know she was going to pack it up the rest of my order for me? I got up after sitting there in shock for a minute and asked to cancel the rest of our order and for a refund. I told her I was not returning because of her aggressive behavior. I didn’t hear what names she was calling me when I turned around to walk away but I’m appalled. Whoever the woman is with the short brown hair and the baseball cap that served my table, there is ZERO need for you to be working with the public in any facet. The way you talked to me is embarrassing and a direct reflection of the type of human you are. I can’t imagine what you talk to your loved ones like if this is how you talk to strangers.

*update* After posting my review I was contacted by a manager who was very apologeticand wanted to hear more about our experience and try to make things right. I will update my review when I have the chance to try Hoot again. I was very happy with the response and concern for our poor impression. If you're going there for the first time, I would recommend you make sure it isn't trivia night, unless you don't mind the wait and crowd.* We were excited to try Hoots but picked the wrong night. It was trivia night and the place was packed and extremely loud. We were told we could sit at the bar or on the porch, if there was space. There was a table on the porch but it only had one chair. We went back inside to order and ask if we could get another chair but couldn't get the bartender or the hostess to help us out even look at us, even though they were not very busy at that time. Sadly, we decided to leave and try to find somewhere else to eat.
As someone who isn’t vegan, everything on their menu is fantastic. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Great atmosphere and excellent service. We ordered the Mushroom Tony burger, the Mushroom Mac and a couple of drinks. All were excellent and all vegan. You do have to order at the bar but it was fast and convenient. Looking forward to our next date night.
