Was in Columbia for the weekend. This was pretty bad. Sad, because I wanted to like it! It’s a cute setup; however, the service and food were just not good. It was difficult getting in touch with the restaurant. We had a reservation, and could not get them on the phone to let them know we were running a little late. Once we got there, we were informed the restaurant does not have a phone. We also had to enter the restaurant though a connected restaurant.. it appears the door wasn’t unlocked. Once seated, the waitress brought out one of our entrees first…. Odd. I didn’t want their food to get cold, so I encouraged them to go ahead and eat. Once my food arrived, I was disappointed in the grits and the eggs. I asked to swap my grits out for hash browns. When the hash browns came, they were pitiful. Hard, not really potatoey… they were the frozen hash browns you get from the grocery store, not shredded, and they were thrown on top of each other, My eggs grew cold from waiting for the hash browns, so I informed the server. She went and warmed my eggs up in a microwave. Lol Won’t be back and will not be recommending at all. Very nice people, but customers pay for a service and experience… just wasn’t up to par. I left hungry.

Very excited to try this restaurant, we were pleased with the food and drink but the service is horrible and the two young men that waited on us should find another career. The bar tender was great and attentive but the other two male servers were not. He told us the ONLY other table had reservations and they would serve us when they had time after we had been seated for 30 minutes. We asked to order brunch at 2:11 pm and he then informed us that brunch cuts off at 2:00 pm after we had inquired about items on the brunch menu. It would have been nice to know this prior to 2:00! So try at your own risk.

The food? Absolutely phenomenal — no complaints there. But the service? A total letdown. For the amount we spent on appetizers and drinks, we expected at least a little professionalism. Instead, the servers acted like they couldn’t care less — distracted, disinterested, and honestly, a little out of it. As long as they continue to hire people like that, they won’t be seeing another dime from us. I don’t care how good the food is — the vibe matters too!

Horrible food and the rudest excuse for service in Columbia. They will be out of business soon.

Brunch, girls day out - You know the delight of going to a nice restaurant when all of the entrees are presented at the same time .... Well you can expect the very opposite at the Robinson Room. Entrees were brought out one at a time with a great deal of space (at least 5 minutes) in between each service delivery For instance, my eggs for my gritts were served a good 5 minutes before the cold grits were brought to me. We watched the coffee get made one painful cup at a time (we are not talking anything beyond regular coffee). Same for the simple mimosa cocktails. We had to ask for milk and sugar, though sugar was not even available. Everyone was served cold brunch and it is very awkward when items are served more than 5 minutes apart! The atmosphere is quite pretty, but brunch at the Robinson Room was a HUGE disappointment

What an incredible first experience!
The atmosphere was upscale yet inviting—perfect for a night out. The cocktails were expertly crafted, full of flavor and attention to detail. Our bartender was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We’ll definitely be back soon!

This was, without question, the worst brunch experience of my life.

Food: $20 plates served with frozen hashbrowns, burnt (and also clearly frozen) biscuits, and over-easy eggs so cold they tasted like they’d been stored in a cooler before serving. Absolutely unacceptable for the price point.

Seating: I was placed on a bizarre green “couch” that was absurdly low. At 6’3”, the table was literally up to my neck—an uncomfortable and impractical setup for dining.

Service: Our server didn’t bother to write down the order, and within a minute returned to ask again. Despite this, several items still came out wrong. When we voiced our concerns after paying, the only thing she seemed worried about was whether we “enjoyed the vibe and the music.” As I told my friend: you can’t eat the vibe.

Overall, The Robinson Room was overpriced, uncomfortable, poorly run, and completely out of touch with what dining customers expect. I would strongly advise skipping this place.

Food was expensive for what you get. Not that great. Service was awful. Never been anywhere that you pay for each cup of terrible coffee which took forever to get. Will not ever go back.

Horrible the menu on the web is not the same menu in the restaurant! Over priced I also had to send back my food it was cold and greasy! The charcuterie board was as small as a child’s plate for the price…. Cheese cake was right out of a box! I wasted an experience tonight

Everything about our visit was excellent except for the service. Immediately upon being seated, we were asked about our food choices before we even had a chance to review the menu. When my boyfriend placed his order, I requested a moment to decide, but the server did not return for approximately 20 minutes. By the time I was able to order, my boyfriend had already finished eating. Throughout the meal, the server showed little attentiveness; for example, my boyfriend’s water glass remained empty for nearly 30 minutes. While the food and atmosphere were enjoyable, the service fell far short of expectations.

Really cute place and we were so excited to try! The brunch was disappointing and pretty expensive. The breakfast bowl was two store bought hash browns, scrambled eggs, 2 slices of bacon, for $20. My husband ordered the empanadas, they were two small (good not great) and a small side salad for $22! For 2 cocktails and those two dishes it was $100 with a tip. I love having great food and a fun cocktail, but the uninspired food and the large bill was not something we will repeat.

Great place to take a large party. There was only one waiter so it took a while to get service but he was very nice and handled it well.
