Had a late lunch after a tour of USC. Seated right away. Great service. They roll from a lunch menu to a dinner menu at 5:00 and were out of all chicken dishes (we sat down at 4:00).

Food was fantastic. They offered alternatives to the options on the menu and gave us many different variations of sauces. We got the pimento cheese appetizer, which was enough for 7 of us to share. Chocolate cake was super rich (great for us), but if you don't like rich chocolate just be aware.

Overall really great experience.

The service was terrible. They gave me a raw burger and when I asked them to fix it they brought back a small half burger instead of a new one. Took my plate of fries with them brought back about 5. Paid an exorbitant amount for crap. Be careful if you go to this restaurant not only will your wallet suffer but you might die from e-coli poisoning!!! My husband's rice was not cooked and my moms sandwich was missing a key ingredient as well!! If you just want a nice atmosphere and nothing else then this place is for you.

Amazing food, great atmosphere, and friendly service. Everything was flavorful and clearly made with care. One of the best spots in Columbia — always a solid choice.

This was my first time going to Warmouth. First impression is that the parking sucks. I had to park down another street and walk to the restaurant! Food was okay, service was pretty good! Drinks were amazing! I'll probably return for apps and drinks!

Went twice during restaurant week. The menu they offered for restaurant week was incredible. I got the BBQ plate, with a crab cake for appropriateness and banana pudding for dessert. Everything was excellent, I had cocktail, 'smoked on the water': let the smoke settle into the drink before enjoying 😉. Second time I had the chicken bog. Didn't have the full flavor of my first meal. My wife really enjoyed her hamburger. This will be a return meal/cocktail venue when I return to Columbia to visit. Disappointed that we didn't get to hear the musical the Thursday night we were there. Looked like it was going to be great.

Local hideaway with excellent food. Good tap beer selection. Highly recommend the cornbread appetizer which comes on a special wooden paddle. Large portion sizes and very tasty food. Had no trouble getting a table on a Saturday night – they don’t take reservations. Food preparation was a little slow, but our server was very attentive. Not too loud to talk even when full – easy to have a conversation. They also have a patio out back.

Stopped by to pick up some of their hot sauce but they didn’t have any. Fortunately enough the staff went above and beyond and went to the kitchen and bottled one up just for me. That is awesome and you just don’t come by that kind of service any more these days.

The War Mouth is one of those places in Columbia that feels like a real treat without trying too hard. The food is excellent, the drink options are just as strong, and it works equally well for a relaxed lunch or a full dinner.

What I love is how thoughtful everything feels. The menu has that Southern, seasonal, chef driven vibe where the dishes are familiar enough to be comforting, but still interesting and elevated. Every time we’ve been, the quality has been consistent and the flavors are on point.

The drinks are also worth coming for. Whether you’re grabbing a cocktail with your meal or just stopping in for a drink, they do it right and it fits the vibe of the place.

Overall, The War Mouth is a great spot when you want something that feels a little special. Great for a date, great with friends, and just an all around solid place I’m always happy to recommend.

Stopped from out of town to enjoy a nice dinner and would come back 10 more times. Our waiter was quick and friendly, our bar drinks were delicious and the food was the star. Pork Rinds, meatloaf, catfish & grits + kids meals. So happy we popped in.

Great selection of beers on tap, deviled eggs were really good, Sarah is a sweetheart, I don't know if she's still there, I haven't been there in 10 years

Loved it, visited with work colleagues, a little out of the centre, though definitely worth a visit.

Took my employees out for a Christmas party/brunch today at The War Mouth. From reserving the space, to the service, to the food, everything was great! Big thanks to Lindsey behind the bar who took great care of our team!

Nice atmosphere, Lots of people talking and keeping the environment feeling active. Ribs were tough and bark made it too salty. Pickles did not taste pickled. Slaw was fine; mild in flavor and sweet. Rice and hash no complaints about. Shredded pork was best thing on my plate. Flavor of beans not for me. Mac and cheese could be more cheesy. For the price, can easily get better quality elsewhere.

We stop here every time we pass through Columbia. We love the service, atmosphere and the food and drinks! You can order the ribs by themselves, though they aren't listed by themselves. I recommend trying everything! Nothing is the best I've ever had, but it's all reliably delicious!
