We’re from California and ordered food from Bluegrass BBQ & Catering for a family reunion/picnic in South Carolina — and they completely blew us away! Stopped in for a Bluegrass BBQ sandwich while passing through from Atlanta.
Met the owner and had a great discussion about how long he smokes the meat cuts with pecan wood.
Having been in the wood only bbq business, I do not recommend bbq often,
However , that said Mr. Jordan’s bbq has a gorgeous bark with his ribs and chicken (sampled). Also, the flavorful pecan smoke could be tasted in every bite of the sandwich which had a wonderful grilled texture....
You can smell the BBQ smoker as you get out of your car in the parking lot. I always get the Banjo Plate. I can't eat pork, but the smoked chicken is fantastic. I always get the BBQ Fries to start. My favourite sides are the hush puppies and the mac and cheese. For dessert you gotta get either their banana pudding or the hidden gem, the sweet potato crunch.
