The Island Shack's new chef Angela is the best he's had. The food was so splendid. That fried chicken was exceptional; it made me think of home when all of my family is at the table eating grandma yummy fried chicken!

I didn't have time to have lunch at The Shack so took it back to the hotel for dinner. The grouper sandwhich was Delicious! Plus onion rings. Wish I could have stayed under the big oak tree listening to my favorite music of The Eagles and late 70s music. Great spot!!

Their hours are inconsistent. Go to School Grounds Coffee instead.

Had the best Grouper sandwich I have had in a long time! Just delicious. Jake, the chef, was extremely nice and attentive. If you find your self on Daufuskie this is a definite stop! I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

This little spot is the best! I had the shrimp tacos and hubby had the prime burger and we shared the key lime pie for dessert (should have got 2?)! Lunch was great but let me tell you it was the BEST key lime pie I’ve ever had! We will definitely be back!! The atmosphere is lovely under the big live oaks and Spanish moss with a little jazz music in the background! Owner and staff was very accommodating, prompt, and friendly. Thank you for a great start to our long weekend here in Daufuskie?

Kid-friendliness: Large grassy area to run and play with some cornhole boards as well.

From the moment you step into the café, you're welcomed by a rustic country setting that promises relaxation and comfort. The centerpiece, a majestic live oak draped in stunning Spanish moss, sets a picturesque backdrop that is as calming as it is beautiful. This natural elegance, combined with an open fire pit, creates an inviting atmosphere where guests can unwind and soak in the slow-paced island life.

A standout offering is their Sunday special: a mouth-watering pulled pork sandwich slathered in Carolina Gold barbecue sauce, paired perfectly with a side of their notably delicious coleslaw.
