What a great addition to an amazing Island! The owners are fantastic. The location is beautiful and well appointed with an almost elegant yet charming atmosphere. The bathrooms are very nice and extremely clean. The owners have even created an interactive map of the island with ideal picture locations and historic sites.They have a pool table and a couple of dart boards. Loved the drinks offered! We came for the local distilled bourbon but ended up tasting the spiced rum too! Let’s just say I’ll be buying bottles of this stuff! This bar is a great lil spot to taste some amazing drinks and relax while watching the horses on the stables. I will definitely be back!
If you’re on Daufuskie Island, don’t miss The Sportsman at Melrose. This pub (located at the Melrose Equestrian Center) has a phenomenal vibe. Great food/drinks and a free pool table!? Say no more.. I’m in!
Bonus tip: You can buy a bag of treats from the bar to feed the horses if you’re interested. This activity was a hit with the family and the horses were sweet!
