Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

A huge disappointment. The young lady working the hostess desk was outstanding. She greeted me with a friendly welcome, pointed out the special of the day, and seated me promptly. After that it went down hill fast. I sat there for 10 minutes before a server came. I gave her my entire order and a glass of water. She said I will get your water on out. That took forever. After she brought the water she disappeared completely. I had told her I wanted to start with a salad. Then entree of grilled chicken. Three sides which was green beans, broccoli, and bowl of fruit. I waited another 20 minutes and another server brought me my chicken, broccoli, and green beans. Still no salad. I asked her about it and she tell me what you ordered. I will get it for you. Obviously the first lazy and worthless server never put it on the order. I also said I ordered a fruit bowl and so she went back and ordered that too. To make things worse there was only 6 pieces of broccoli in the bowl. The fruit bowl was only half full. No refills on my water at all. It is obvious to me this store in Duncan has a poor excuse for management and the staff is as bad as they are. The only person in the store is that very young hostess and that young lady has real adult maturity, great work ethic, and awesome people skills. Maybe Cracker Barrel should make her the store manager. I feel like these problems would be taken care of.
Now let me give you the reverse experience. I was in Statesville, NC last weekend and had a stellar experience with everything. Ordered the same meal. That server was all about customer service. No waiting to be acknowledged I was seated. She took the order and the salad was brought out quickly. When the entree and sides came out I had everything and the green beans and broccoli were put on the plate with the chicken and a gracious plenty of both filled my plate. The fruit bowl was completely full.
Statesville, NC store deserves recognition for a job well done.
Duncan management spend a week in Statesville and learn how to be a manager and learn how to operate a successful restaurant and have caring staff.
I would appreciate an opportunity to share tonight's disaster with someone in corporate but unfortunately those days are over. You no longer have a phone number provided to call any talk to a live human being. It's obvious that's by design. They don't care just like they didn't care when they started making radical changes last year. Goodbye Duncan! You lost a customer.

Makayla Gibby (KK) was our server, and she did an absolutely amazing job. She was so kind, attentive, and genuinely caring the entire time. You can tell she works very hard and truly loves what she does. She made us feel so welcomed, and our experience was wonderful because of her. We highly recommend asking for Makayla if you’re dining here!

Just left our local Cracker Barrel, after 8 months of staying away. I will not be back. After eating holiday foods, I wanted breakfast foods. The menu has changed so much that you basically have to order each item individually. I ordered the Grandma's breakfast because I wanted eggs, grits and the bacon, sausage and ham. It came with pancakes and I gave them to my son, because I couldn't switch them for hash browns. I also ordered coffee and the waitress said she would put on a fresh pot. She did, and the coffee was good, but I guess the pot only holds one cup, because she never came back to refill. I said something to her about the menu had changed and she said it was about to be changed again, that nothing was going to be added or removed, just changed. Why? The parking lot looked full, but the strange thing was, the dining room was bare. Things will have to change drastically before I ever go back.

This is hands down the best cracker barrel in the upstate. I have tried all locations and the Duncan location is the only one that is consistent with their food. The way they create it and how it is presented. They pay attention to details and dietary needs as well. Definitely one of our favorites and now visit once a month.

Chelsea did an amazing job despite the pressure of the volume of customers. Kitchen did the food right, but slow. The myriad of choices and rules for swapping is painful. I'm trying to be health concious person because medically, I have to be, and your rules make it difficult. I know you have to balance, maRgin, profit, and customer wants but it's breakfast food not rocket science.

Many of these restaurants are top notch, with friendly staff and excellent food. I sat down expecting nothing different, but this particular spot had extremely quick service and the food somehow also came out piping hot and fresh.

I had a bit of an issue with a desert, and it was quickly rectified by a kind and professional female manager (sorry I don’t remember your name! Left at 2:10p).

Grateful for the consistency in quality and service with this chain, perfectly exemplified at this location.
