We had a party of 8 come to eat on March 9, 2024, and boy were we disappointed to say the very least! They charge way too much for such a small selection of food. The ONLY thing that was good was the pickled beets and that's probably because they didn't cook it. It has to be really bad for me to hop online and leave a bad review. When I say it is the worst food and service, IT WAS! The only dessert there was to eat was cherry cobbler. How is it fair to charge someone $20 a person when all there is to choose from is salad and maybe 5 other things and then 1 dessert. They are not in a hurry to bring out more, hot, fresh food either. All that was left of the Mac n cheese were the corners of the pan and it was then still 3 hours until close. The green beans were awful. Whatever they serve as ketchup is not ketchup, they need to stop making it and stick to Hunts or Heinz! The tarter sauce was disgusting and looked like cottage cheese. The food was cold. My mom even got sick the same night when she returned home. The black waitress was really sweet but the white waitress (our waitress) seemed like she hated her job and was in a hurry to leave. She was not pleasant at all. This place is a joke!! Years ago, this place was the best seafood restuarant around and it's gone to hell in a hand basket for sure. Im sure the original people would be very disappointed in how much of a down hill its gone. I do not reccommend. Save your time and money!

It has been over 45 years since my dad and me ate here. I decided to take him here for his 84th birthday. They did not disappoint us at all. They greeted us at the door, and made us feel welcome. Dad and me ate from the buffet bar, and it was M'm , M'm m, Good!! ? We are coming back, and bringing my aunt. Hopefully, they will have oyster stew.
Went on Saturday night (1/27/24) around 6:30 or so. Had not been to Black's in at least 10 years. The staff was very friendly and seemed glad we came. The salad bar was very fresh but I wish it had a few more options like olives, mushrooms, and hot peppers. The seafood bar was delicious but I held back 1 star because the warmer table needs to be hotter. Also, a better quality tartar sauce and cocktail sauce would help a lot. Some collard greens and bone-in catfish added to the bar would be awesome as well. All in all, Black's is a good place, we'll be back, it won't be 10 years later this time though. By the way, the chicken tenders were on point.
We arrived a little early. No wait. The salad bar was simple but I was very satisfied with it.The buffet was good, as well. The food was hot and fresh. The fried fish was crispy and the shrimp was cooked properly. I'd had liked to had some whole, fried catfish. No complaints at all.

My little getaway for a cheat meal every now and then!
We go once in a while to visit with family, but not our cup of tea. If you love fried food, you will probably like it though. Too much pork -and they put pork in the vegetables, so you're out on veggies if you're vegetarian or just don't like pork. Family owned by awesome people.
I haven't been to Blacks in a while. We ordered takeout, and it was awesome. The food was hot and fresh. I got the grilled scallops, and they were very good.

I'm going out a limb and going to say sea scallops should be good when they have them. Be sure to call ahead to reserve the rib eyes. Thank you Ashley!
