Had a great dinner experience with our family including our 7 year old son! Felicia was very attentive and took great care of us! Fried scallops, fresh salad, grits, filet mignon, ribeye and fried flounder were delicious! Finished dinner off with a homemade blueberry cobbler and icecream! We will be back! Been trying to come here for years while on vacation and it was definitely worth the wait! Thank you Felicia! ?
It was our first time, we came with friends who come every year, they highly recommended it, but we were all disappointed. There were two positive things: Our server was Felicia and she was amazing! She recommended, or I'll say practically insisted that we add blue cheese crumbles to our salad and it was great. It was Friday 7pm and based upon their prior experiences our friends were surprised that we were able to get reservations. The hostess was pleasant and polite and we were seated quickly, there were only about 5 other tables. We quickly learned why the place was empty. Once we got past the salads the food was a disaster. We each ordered something different, all the food was over cooked, over seasoned and cold. Scrimp and grits was watery, the flounder was the worst, so salty and over cooked that my wife couldn't even eat one bite. This place was a favorite over the years for our friends, sadly none of will ever be back.

This place is just using the location for a money grab. Stupid expensive for less than standard food. First the appetizers were $8-$10 for 3 little mushrooms with cheese sauce or a couple of cornbread muffins lol. Then they charged us $2.50 for every soda refill they brought without bothering to mention it. Most of the meals came with a side salad, the server asked if we wanted blue cheese crumbles but she never bothered mentioning that that was another $2.50 per. The entrees were ok, too small and too expensive but they were edible. Then the check came, not only did they include a 20% tip but they also charged me 3.5% for using my credit card. I will never go back here. Most overpriced underwhelming experience I’ve had in a long time. Just plain greedy. Beautiful beach, terrible food choices.
This has been one of our favorite restaurants in Edisto Beach. However, today we were hugely disappointed. The crab stuffed mushroom appetizer was small and contained numerous bits of shell. My wife’s fried seafood platter was extremely salty. I ordered the Filet w/ goat cheese. I’ve never had such a bad piece of meat. It was filled with fat and gristle which is unheard of in a filet. I sent it back. No one ever came out from the kitchen or management to talk to me about the situation. The waitress apologized and gave me the lame excuse that that’s what they got from the store. Really? The only good thing about the dinner was the Meiomi Pinot Noir. We will not be returning ever again.
Interior decor was good. Exterior is rough. Server / service was good. Food was just barely ok. Previous experience there several years ago was great all around.....not so much from the food standpoint now. Disappointing.
The best restaurant in edisto without a doubt. Our sever Felicia, was the best one we have had the whole time we were down here. The food was AMAZING!!! If you want good food worth the money this is where to go. I’ve never tasted better grits and the flounder was mouth watering.

Our dinner last night was great & our server was too! We had the duck legs appetizer & the fried seafood platter for dinner. I would have given the restaurant 5 stars except the options for side dishes were pretty non existent. Dinners come with grits and the "vegetable of the day" which last night was cabbage seasoned with Curry (Yucky-Yuck) I like cabbage alright, but not seasoned with curry. It made it kind of a weird addition to fried seafood and grits... Would have liked to have had another option like green beans, asparagus, or just a vegetable medley. The rest of the meal was cooked perfectly and their key lime pie was the perfect ending!
Our waitress was great, the atmosphere was nice, we added blue cheese crumbles to our salad and it was great. Our appetizers were good, but the food was not the best. We had 11 people and 4 ordered cayenne honey drizzled flounder (over fried), grits(runny not very tasty), broccoli (no flavor except the cheese on it), Jasmin rice great, dessert great. 2 orrdered The shrimp & grits, ok, 2 ordered the firecracker flounder great, 2 ordered hamburger steak, ok

Let me start by saying, I have never been to this restaurant - but don't stop reading here.I made reservations for dinner with my family here and then read the google reviews. I cancelled my reservations due to the single fact that the owner of this establishment chose to respond in a harsh, snide manner to poor reviews that were honestly and thoughtfully written by their paying customers. Coming from a family that owned a business for over 40 years, I found this to be a huge turn off, and want to make it clear that the way they chose to publicly respond in these scenarios is what lost them our business.
We used to eat many years ago at the charming fine dining restaurant The Old Post Office in Edisto, South Carolina. Returning after a long absence, we were eagerly awaiting an excellent dining experience and found that the quality had really slipped. The first clue was the whipped spread served instead of butter with a very small half loaf of bread. No biscuits typical of this area? We were told they couldn’t get butter. This was completely unbelievable because there is a Food Lion close by. The manager said Sysco doesn’t supply butter. According to their webpage they do.Admittedly, I am a good home cook and foodie who honeymooned in Paris. The French as described by Julia Childs said they aim to make food from the best fresh ingredients with the best flavors. She said roast chicken should be the most chickeny chicken. When a chef or restaurant serves spread instead of butter that tells me they don’t care about details or taste. The salad was tasty with a delicious mustard vinaigrette. Our meals included a good filet and several fried seafood platters. The breading was overly salty. The vegetables tasted like canned or frozen pole beans. We were also told they were fresh but four of use thought they were not. And the biggest disappointment, the once irresistible stone ground grits simmered for hours with cream were very average porridge. Even Waffle House and Cracker Barrel serve butter and better grits. Finally our bill was unreadable. One was handwritten and barely legible attached to an equally unreadable, unitemized adding machine tape. The manager squared that away adequately. The prices are very high for what is no longer a fine dining experience. They also charge $18 to unscrew a bottle of wine you bring in! Somewhat understood because they are a business. Our waitress Felicia did an adequate job and was pleasant. We understand the pandemic hit the restaurant business hard, but that doesn’t prevent a chef or owner from going to the store or asking Sysco for fresh, high quality ingredients like butter.

Easily made reservations. Very nice atmosphere in the Old Post Office. The wine selection was great and our dinners were delicious. The dinner bread was average as was the small dinner salad. Overall great experience.
Filet not edible due to stench. Took $7 off instead of comping meal. Also tons of fat for a filet??
Lovely and delicious meal with great service!!! It was a wonderful break from the storms while camping. Thank you for a nice family dinner.
