The pizza had a pleasant flavor and the sauce/cheese/toppings were balanced and of decent quality. The crust could use some work, like oiling the bottom before they cook it or something, to improve the mouthfeel and add some crunch. The shop is not much to look at, and the tables inside are too small for plates and a pizza, so a ding on atmosphere. The lady who took my order was super nice.Parking: They're much closer to the North Eastern end of the parking lot.

Was on a job in the area. Called in the order 30 minutes prior to arrival for pickup. When we arrived the order hadn’t even made it to the cooks. When I asked for an explanation there wasn’t one. Consequently my crew and myself spent our whole lunch waiting for our food and then were late back getting on the job. This directly gave us a bad look because now we are not providing the service we are supposed to for our customer. It’s not acceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone expecting to eat during your lunch break unless you have a lot of time.

Really good pizza. Ordered 3 pizzas & some hot wings close to closing time. I picked up a little early and everything was ready. Ordered their "hot" "hot" "hot" wings, got good flavor, but don't even qualify for one "hot". Overall, we enjoyed the pizza & wings & I would order there again definitely.

On this year's October vacation on Edisto, I ordered from the Sandbar Pizza Joint for the first time. I ordered a Greek pizza and a Greek salad. The salad was excellent, with plenty of fresh lettuce, actually ripe cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, and feta. The dressing was not house-made but fine. The pizza was topped with good ingredients (I might have liked a little more). Some reviewers have said their crust was under-cooked, but I found the thin crust very good, not crispy as some pizza chains bake it but fully baked and with a pleasant chewiness like thicker-crust. On the down side, Yelp and others still show Sandbar open on Mondays; delivery was not available when I called during operating hours; and the pizza was already cooling when I arrived during the time specified to pick it up. I get the impression the owners are working on improving the place but still have a little way to go. I will try them again.

First of all, when everywhere online says you’re open on Monday evening, how about being open on Monday evening? Second, get voice mail so you can have a recorded message come on that you’re NOT open then. Third, on the days you are SUPPOSEDLY open you close at SEVEN pm? Other restaurants in this area where at least 75% of your biz comes from tourists, are open til 8, 8:30, 9 pm. That’s still not super convenient but a lot better than 7 pm. Maybe the restaurant biz is not for you—can’t even be bothered with a proper web page. Link goes to a Facebook page.
