This is a soul food place. I love soul food. I was visiting this area from out of town. I saw Bert's and had to have soul food. The restaunt is easy to see from the road. It has easy parking and handicap access. I was quite surprised at rhe prices. I got the smothered Pork chop. It's 1 pork chop with 3 sides for almost $18.00. My opinion is that that is too much. I say tgat because where I call home, I get three pork chops,and three sides for about 13.00 or 14.00. Maybe...
My wife and I Stopped in after driving all day and were warmly welcomed into a very pleasant and comfortable experience. I had the Beef Stew, Collards and Green Beans. The flavors were full and absolutely delicious. My wife had the Pulled Pork, Blackeye Peas and Baked Apples, they have Cinnamon on them. Everything was very well done and we will definitely be coming back. If you find yourself in Colombia, SC looking for great southern cooking go to Bert’s, you won’t be disappointed!!
Good food, different type of atmosphere...imagine if you just popped up to an old friends house, who can cook, and tell him that you're hungry. That's what Bert exemplifies to me. He's like you're personal made to order chef. Not the fastest or the cheapest, but I enjoyed the experience.
