The atmosphere was really nice. Food came in fast, but wasn't great
The margaritas was horrible. I always get margaritas wherever I go, and this was NOT it. My husband and I couldn't even drink it. Thank goodness it was only $10 a piece. Won't be coming back. Will stick with San Jose in Elgin.

My daughter and I had the chicken and carnitas sopes! I expected them to be a lot smaller but they were bigger than my hand so we could only finish one of each. Super flavorful and loaded with meat, beans and veggies.
The service could be a bit better due to the fact that the waitress didn’t know much about their own menu. Not sure if she was new but I really didn’t expect that!

Really enjoyed this meal - we got queso-birria tacos and chicken fajitas for 2. All items prepared with care, attentive friendly servers, and a clean, pleasant atmosphere. Says it is Cali-Mexican style food; the Cali folks will need to confirm. We plan to return!

Walked into the place for some mexican food. the chicken tamales i had were great! my waitress, rozalyn was attentive, offered some good suggestions, and was very quick with her service with a smile! i will be back!

The food was amazing! Had the red enchiladas and they were packed full of flavor. Had the queso and that was really good as well. The Rozalyn, our waitress was extremely friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

Visited the restaurant tonight as we wanted to try a new family ran place this time around. When we entered we stood there for around 2-3 minutes before we were asked if we were dining in. After we showed our selves to a booth. We sat there with no menus, no drinks, and no courtesy chips to much on for around 10 minutes before we were acknowledged by a waitress. In this time period, we watched a family of 6 come in, be sat by a staff member, and they were given chips, menus, and drinks immediately.

Mind you we were there for about 5-7 minutes before this party arrived. We came within seconds of getting up and leaving as it was being shown to us that our business was no good at this restaurant. After FINALLY being helped the drinks were good (we had the horchata) and the food tasted good as well (I had the Cali Burrito, and my husband had the birra tacos). During our time there we watched the bigger tables get a lot of attention and nonstop attention from the staff. This frankly pisses us off further then we were already for waiting for so long.

I'm going to place the terrible service to the restaurant being newer but that was god awful! As a restaurant your money is coming from your small tables mostly, I would put the same energy I saw given to the big party to everyone else there for a better experience.

This is literally only a 2 star review because of the service! Please fix this in the future!

This place has the most delicious and fresh tasting food. The server Jonah was very polite and friendly. This is our second time here and of course we will be back.

Jonah was a great server. Youthful and enthusiastic! Great cozy authentic Mexican joint this neighborhood desperately needed! My new Thursday night dinner with a cocktail! Must visit!

We love the food at Chicano's! I think it's some of the best Mexican food in the area! I highly recommend it. My kids enjoy the food and the ability to dance by the karaoke machine.
