I arrived with my teen daughter to order from a delightful young lady that was positive and professional. After ordering our meal, I listened to the same young lady being berated by the owner while we waited for our food in the dining room (extremely awkward). He addressed her directly and publicly on the frontline while two other young employees observed and she simply “took it” without response. He shared her need to improve work ethic including being available when needed and “if you got mental health issues don’t come to work” and “leave it at the door”. He showed no empathy and had a bullying vibe throughout so much so that my 16 yo daughter commented on the interaction. I proceeded to validate her concerns by letting her know she should never settle for working for such a poor establishment with average food at best. When I shared the same with the young lady afterward, who maintained elite professionalism throughout (she’s an absolute keeper!), she teared up and thanked me for the support. Elgin community and its youth deserve better leadership!! This will be my last meal at Gyromania and I’m grateful for the experience as both my girls are now protected from ever working for such an insensitive jerk. Do better!
In response to the owner: I’m less concerned with the internal details and more with the tone of the owners response. Even if no wrongdoing occurred, replying to a customer with defensiveness, dismissiveness, and personal jabs doesn’t reflect well on management. Customers aren’t required to “understand” internal dynamics to comment on what they witness in a public space. If something appears uncomfortable, it’s reasonable to raise concern. A simple, professional clarification would have gone much further than lecturing or insulting my review. This response, unfortunately, raises more red flags than the original situation.

We had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon while driving back to Columbia from Lake Wateree. We were very impressed with the food. We had the Greek fries, beef souvlaki pita, and lamb souvlaki pita. All were delicious! Meats were cooked and seasoned well and veggies were fresh. We'll be back if we're in the area again.

We drove from Columbia to check this place out. There aren’t many options for Greek food near us. Really good experience. Staff were friendly and helpful; and food came out timely and hot. We tried the Greek green beans, lemon potatoes, spanakopita, classic gyro pita with fries, hummus and pita. We didn’t have room for dessert, but there were lots of enticing choices. Everything was delicious and good quality. Definitely will come back. PS, I have to also mention the iced tea was freshly brewed and good! Seems like a simple thing but so many places get it wrong.

G grill could write a book for a lot of restaurants in this town on how to prepare food with a delicious flavor that's not oversalted. Give G grill a try.I am sure that you will not be disappointed.

Always a pleasant experience at gyromania. Staff is always on point. Kinda, sweet. Patient, all smiles. Such a friendly environment. And the food is always so fresh! I tend to get the same thing EVERYTIME a platter with rice and Greek salad but I need to try other stuff but I love my usual so much it’s hard to switch up. Next time I’ll figure out something new to try :-) thanks for being so awesome gyromania!! Elgin!

Every single time I go, the food is hot, fresh, and so delicious. I’m very picky when it comes to Greek food, but this is definitely some of the best I’ve ever had. The beef tenderloin is hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. It’s better than what I’ve had at actual steakhouses!!
One little detail I love—if you get your food to-go, they tape the straw to your drink so nothing spills and you don’t end up leaving without it. It might seem small, but it shows how much they think about the customer experience.
If you’re in the area and haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and stop by.

What an inviting, pleasant counter service Greek restaurant this is! My spouse and I shared souvlaki and spinach pie, with salad. The food was fresh and delicious. Going back for the lamb skewers next!
