Food is good but small portions. Over priced , over priced. After food and drink 18 bucks ( for lunch). Waitress had a bad attitude and did a poor job. Wont be back.

My father and I stopped in today for a lunch. Very disappointed for our first and LAST visit. My father asked for Sprite. Which was nothing but soda water. It took the waitress until we could finally order our food and it was prepared to bring him a corrected drink. She also never mentioned what specials they had.we had to get up and read the sign at the register. Needless to say we did nit enjoy this experience..My Father had the Meatloaf special. With mashed potatoes and white gravy and coleslaw.His words " This is uneatible!" the meatloaf is old and dry, the potatoes well are thin and they lack flavor and also only gave him a small portion. The gravy already looked congealed at 1 pm in the afternoon. He said the coleslaw had way to much mayonnaise in it.My Hamburger was well a ? and fries.But we will not be back. I thought it would be a good place to take my aging father for a country meal. He has lived in Elgin for over 50 years. So he has eaten all All resturants that have opened, come and gone. He was especially disappointed and said they should have left "Elgin House of Pizza there".Do better! And if the owners are who I think they are they know better.

We drove from columbia to Elgin to try this breakfast. We were very disappointed. We got the mamma platter. The waffle came out first, which we thought was strange since it normally comes out after the main meal. Since we were starving, we ate it. It was ok, but waffle from waffle house is better. The hashbrowns had a plasticky texture and were crunchy. The biscuit was cakey like it needed to cook longer. The sausage gravy was bland without any flavor. The grits were very grainy, almost like cream of wheat. We noticed that breakfast is only served on Saturday. We thought about coming back to try their lunch, but if their breakfast is that bad, their lunch/dinner is probably not much better. I hate doing these kind of reviews, but I think it's important for the business to know what they need to work on. Tasting their own food is important, and I don't think they do.
