My First time every experiencing Jim Crow Law at restaurant, Venus Restaurant!! First, waitress Demeanor was bad! Then, French Toast breakfast number 15 was ice cold! not luke warm, but ice cold!!.I told waitess. When Manager came out, he said, to me "you waited 15 minutes before you start to eat". I said," when does manager tell customer when to eat their food?" In strong mild tone voice. I said, " No trouble", I just pay for my coffee. No! I will not get another serving! I paid for my coffee and walk out as Proud Black Woman because Money is Green and there are other Restaurants!!!Be care in South, Jim Crow Laws still lives even with foreigners.Manager is Greek!!!!!!!!

I understand that restaurants get busy but that should not be the excuse you use when someone tells you their food was served cold. I have been here many times and never felt disrespected as I felt today. I tried to get the attention of the staff when my meal was served to no avail. She had dropped the food in record time with the check mind you and then never came back to the table I don’t like to complain loudly and usually never complain food even if it’s wrong I mostly eat it anyway. However COLD EGGS omelet are not I mean even the slice of cheese didn’t melt in anyway just layed on top of refrigerator cold ham and cold bacon isn’t really that nice either. So I quietly took my plate up to the front and told them everything was cold and I was just going to go and pay and leave. They did offer to remake it but I was turned off of breakfast by then so I said quietly no thanks this is where I had have an issue, the Lady at the register gave me an attitude and said well we are busy I don’t think that is a good excuse personally and I know me not coming back will hurt them in any way but I really was trying to be quiet about it and not make a big fuss but the rudeness of her turned me off even more.

I’ve been wanting to get back to Venus for a while, but my schedule conflicts with theirs. We had breakfast for lunch there the other day, and it was terrific. My wife had big, fluffy French toast, scrambled eggs, and some terrific sausage patties. I had a plate that they call the mess.toast and french fries covered in a hamburger steak with cheese on it, mushrooms, onions, two eggs, over medium and a ladle of gravy. Plan on only eating half of it and having the half that you saved for lunch the next day. It was very good and our waitress couldn’t have been any nicer.

Venus is a wonderful example of a locally owned diner / restaurant that thinks customers deserve excellent food served in a friendly atmosphere. I have never had a meal here that I wouldn't eagerly order again!
