I can't say enough good about this place. From the warm welcomes when you enter, the perfect lighting and beautiful decor, to the delicious food, this is a work of art of an experience. Which is no surprise after chatting with the wonderful owners who express love and kindness every gesture and word. Thank you for brining this gem to Fort Mill!

Took a long time to get someone to come over to our table, took 20 mins to get our drinks, took another 10 to get our food. I got the risotto and it was soupy and lacked flavor. My daughter (16) got a pasta dish that was good. Bread plate (sourdough and focaccia was on point, but the Za’atar was bland and poorly made, it was essentially just olive oil. My wife’s family is Lebanese and I’ve been to Lebanon multiple times and this definitely lacked the traditional taste, texture and consistency that I was expecting.

I cannot recommend The Speckled Pear’s in-home private fine dining highly enough! We hosted a Christmas dinner for some colleagues, and it was an incredible experience. Robyn and Chef Michael really took care of everything—cooking, serving, wine pouring, cleanup—so we were able to be present with our guests. We enjoyed five courses of really elevated cuisine that totally wowed us all. If you want to delight some foodie friends or family with a unique, customized dining experience in the comfort of your home, this is absolutely the way to go!
Can you have some transparency and put some prices on the online menu? Feel free to reach out if you do and I’ll fix my review. Have never met someone who enjoys not knowing how much they’re paying for their food.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Thank you for your delightful menu and wine.

This is a hard review to write because we really enjoyed the service and had high hopes. Ultimately we were really disappointed and would not recommend the speckled pear for its price point. It’s a really nice date night atmosphere for Fort Mill but the food was not good. You can see the details from each dish below. Another issue we had was that many of our dishes were not warm (bordering on cold). The atmosphere and service were able to pull this out of the 2 rating by a hair.
Bone - we have recently been on a bone marrow kick and this did not meet the bar. Highly priced too.
- this was pretty good. The table enjoyed it.
TSP Onion - cold and somewhat bland in flavor. Would not recommend.
Fall Vegetable - the table really enjoyed this but it was also a little cold which was disappointing.
White Truffle - not bad but not that impressed (especially given it was a special)
Butter Basted Sea - the scallops themselves were good but the Brussels were undercooked.
Lemon Custard (was a special): 5/5 - best thing we had all night. No issues. Delicious.

First off I want to say I am excited that downtown Fort Mill continues to add local owned restaurants. The Speckled Pear has been on my “to try list” for the past month and I was super excited in hopes to find a replacement to my favorite locally owned restaurant that closed almost 2 years ago. I read the reviews , however I did not scroll far enough in the posted reviews to be certain my expectations would be met. The atmosphere/decor was a nine out of 10. So for the food…I got the onion soup which is their spin on the classic “French onion soup” and I felt the broth was a bit bland. My husband got the scallop dish. It was a solid 7.5 out of 10, but he is also not a very picky eater. I got the short rib and much to my surprise it was dry and absent of flavor. When I mentioned to the waitress that the short rib was a bit dry/overcooked, (understanding that they are often prepared long before a dinner service) the waiter asked if there was anything that could make my experience better and I politely asked for some more au jus in hopes that this would alleviate some of the jerky texture.
Most of the flavor was in the
au jus. When we received the bill, we were shocked that we were charged $1 for the extra to au jus (which was used essentially try and save the braised rib from being a total disaster). Once again it is not about the dollar, I wholeheartedly am fine with spending $40 on a short rib if it is going to be amazing and not require any doctoring ( at my expense), but what I don’t like is when restaurants charge $40 also not understanding that some people don’t have that kind of money to throw away on a bad culinary experience if this is intended to be a treat for them. I eat out often and have so in multiple countries had the same dish and this was definitely not the norm. Giving the braised short rib 4 out of 10. I am not sure that I will be back to try any other dishes. I would like to say this is a one off, but in reading a previous viewers take on the same dish this appears to be a pattern. There is a bit too much variation to spend that kind of money on a night out. So grand total for 2 entrees and 1 soup was about $100 😱.
Hoping they take this back as constructive criticism and improve on a what could be outstanding dish and experience.

My husband and I tried the Speckled Pear for brunch last weekend and it did not disappoint! We ordered the quiche and the loaded potato bowl and both were amazing. Food presentation and flavor profile was top notch. The owner of the establishment came over and greeted us, which was very kind of her! The only complaint I have is the price. We each ordered one entree and had 3 mimosas between the two of us and our total bill was $90. I am not sure how that adds up to be that much for brunch for 2 people. Other than the steep price, the food was amazing and we will definitely return for a date night sometime.

In comparison - there is no other restaurant in fort mill that demands and delivers the level of care and attention they have. From the quality of food, to the genuine service, to the fresh flowers on your table - The Speckled pear is guaranteed to satisfy and fill, your eyes with their aesthetics, your appetite with their food, and your soul with every moment in between sitting at and standing from your table. Grateful to have this in our town, and our town should be equally as grateful to have this pearl of a restaurant. ❤️❤️❤️

The Speckled Pear is hands-down one of the best dining experiences in the area and easily my favorite restaurant. Every visit feels special, and the consistency is unmatched.
Most recently, we attended their Battle of the Somms dinner, and it was incredible—thoughtfully curated wines, two tastings per course, and pairings that elevated every dish. The food was exceptional, from a luxurious egg yolk ravioli with truffles (so good I forgot to film it!) to a perfectly balanced soufflé served with ice cream topped with raspberry sauce, thyme, and a hint of sea salt. Truly divine.
Whether it’s their regular menu or one of their special events, the creativity, execution, and hospitality at The Speckled Pear are always top-tier. If you're looking for a memorable meal with outstanding service and inspired flavors, this is the place.
