Cucina 100 has all the makings of a cozy local Italian spot… unfortunately, the experience stopped at the idea.
We were seated right next to the hostess and somehow still managed to be completely forgotten — an impressive feat. The tables were sticky (which really sets the mood), and the food took so long that we had time to listen to other nearby tables also express their disappointment.
The spinach artichoke dip was questionable and aggressively salty, and my wife’s lasagna appeared to have lived a full life in the wood-fired oven — possibly as kindling — before making its way to the table. Burnt doesn’t quite cover it. When we showed it to the waitress, her genuine suggestion was for my wife to scrape off the burnt parts and “see if there was anything left” to eat. This was said completely seriously.
By the time everything finally arrived, the appetite had faded along with any remaining optimism. Local spots deserve support, but Cucina 100 made it very hard to do so.

I ordered take out like I usually do (one day I'll eat in). Darnell was the bartender/server that answered the phone. He was polite and courteous and took my order as soon as he finished with his other task. As a server myself, I pride myself on understanding and diligence and I could see that he also prided himself on understanding and hospitality. My order was hot when I got it even though I came later than the time he told me, i also have everything that I ordered.
I order from here a few times a year when I'm in the mood for Italian and everyone else in my household also is (no one can ever pick), they've never done me wrong.

Went for dinner tonight and quite frankly was pretty disappointed. We’ve been eating here for years and have always loved it but something has definitely declined.
Our server was new but he was pretty attentive, after a small mixup the staff checked in with us pretty often - the service portion, was pretty good.
The food on the other hand; I ordered bruschetta and couldn’t make it past the first bite. It was as if the tomatoes were drowning in salt!
I ordered picatta for my entree and same problem, drowning in salt to the point that I couldn’t eat it. There were enough capers to feed a small army, maybe that contributed to the saltiness, but it was still inedible.
I didn’t want to make our servers night even harder, but now I do wish I had said something.
Either way, service was great but the chef may want to consider watching the salt .

It was disappointing to see how much this place has changed since our last visit. The overall quality just isn’t what it used to be.
The spinach dip lacked flavor and is no longer served in the metal dish with pita that we always enjoyed. The mozzarella appetizer, once a favorite, felt smaller and much less flavorful. Even the bread has declined—from fresh, crispy bread with herbs and oil to a dry, store-bought loaf you now have to request.
The caesar salad also missed the mark, with lettuce that didn’t seem fresh and a dressing that tastes different from before. The chicken parmesan, which used to be a standout, was noticeably smaller, less flavorful, and no longer served the same way.
Seeing the restaurant half empty on a Friday night—when it used to be packed—unfortunately makes sense given the drop in quality. While we’ve had great experiences here in the past, this visit left us saying that we will not be returning.

This is absolutely the hidden gem of Fountain Inn. The drinks are top notch, the food is phenomenal and the service is above and beyond. Our waitress, Avery, was one of the best servers I’ve experienced. She was personable without hovering, attentive to our needs without being overbearing, and overall just a joy to get to know. This experience would’ve been wonderful based off food and atmosphere alone, but Avery took it above and beyond. My family and I can’t wait to come back!!

Update - October 25th
I hate to do this to one of our family's favorite resturant, but they have gone down hill. I am not sure if its a new chef or leadership, but all our favorite dishes just do not taste the same. The meatballs are bland. Where they used to be dense and flavorful. The bluecheese dressing was soooo good and now its lost its pizzaz. Then the pizza, wow...it was burnt and greasy and had no flavor. Lastly we tried the egg plant, but it tasted like someone poured sweet tea into the marina it was disgustingly sweet. Its a really shame as it was our staple in Fountain Inn.
This place is a good restaurant in beautiful downtown Fountain Inn. Their pizza is nothing special. The dough was the worst part, but the cheese and ingredients where good if there was any to taste. Their salad dressings are amazing! Homemade and bursting with flavor. The bread they give you at the beginning the few times I have gone has always been ok. It dosnt taste fresh baked and can be a little dry. I had their chicken Marsala and it was pretty good. My wife's eggplant parmesan was really really salty.
I gave this place 3 stars as the food was decent, but still enjoyable. I felt they fell flat in areas they should excel in.
***Update 7/4/18. I have eaten here twice in the last two months and they have done a much better job. Bumping them to 4

Madchen was my bartender. She is phenomenal; you can tell she enjoys what she does. I asked her for recommendations, and she recommended Eggplant Napoleon as our appetizer, which didn’t disappoint. My husband and I got the ribeye with a sweet potato. It was cooked to the right temperature. I wasn’t happy with my wine, so she provided me with samples of other options and made sure we had a great experience. We will definitely be coming back and requesting her.
