We goofed on our timing and arrived right as Gio's closed. The staff, however, were extremely courteous and accommodating, and invited us in. While I don't recommend doing this, it highlights the level of customer service they provide.We left with gelato, sorbet, and pastry treats, all of which were quite satisfying. I hope to get back soon to try the coffee and examine their Italian Market wares. We'll just schedule a more appropriately-timed visit.Be aware that the shop is small. It's a to-go business, it appears, rather than a sit-down location for gelato and coffee. They are only a block from the benches of a small park, however, and the Main Street is one of those that people will want to walk while eating a treat.

Everything about this hidden gem was amazing. From the moment we walked in we felt like family, were treated with such kindness, and served the most authentic Italian bakery items we’ve had since actually being in Italy! The take and bake meals we got were also super yummy and fresh. Thanks Gio’s!!Kid-friendliness: They were so sweet to our kids and took the time to explain menu items and chat!

Update ! I bought everything saturday night . We had put one of the two donuts in the fridge and I just ate half of it today and it was as fresh as the day we got them.AMAZING ! ? GREAT job Gio's !!! And the sandwich and everything else was FANTASTIC also !Loved it will be back. The staff made GREAT SUGGESTIONS !!!!

I love this place! The frozen ravioli is to die for then topped with their frozen vodka sauce...wow!!!! I love how they offer frozen made dinners. I'm a happy customer. ?

I have been following Gio’s story on Facebook from the beginning and put a visit to this shop on my bucket list when the store opened. Today I finally made the trip and it was worth the distance and the wait! Growing up in New Jersey with Italian family roots, Gio’s Pastry has brought a little taste of home to the Upstate! Don’t wait another day to try out the incredibly delicious foods they have to offer! We left there with arms full of bags and have immensely enjoyed everything we have sampled so far! Gio’s, we will definitely be back! You are worth the trip from anywhere!

One of our family traditions is Italian Pastries for a celebration. I was the designated provisioner to get the desserts. I came looking for cannoli, sfogliatelle, pasticciotto , cookies, etc. It is a family run business. Mamma took my order, and her daughter filled the cannoli immediately. The sfogliatelle were excellent! These were the best I have eaten in years. The cannoli were very good. Nice shells. Classic filling. (I'm not a fan of chocolate or strawberry filling, but if you are, they can do that.) Two dozen cannoli disappeared quickly. The pasticciotto are available only by special order and only for some holidays. Next time I'm in town, I'll try again. All in all, a wonderful selection of desserts for us all to enjoy.

We went today for the first time and this place is amazing. Truly authentic Italian pastries and the Maria (eggplant) sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The bread is also amazing. We will be back over and over. We also had a cannoli, tiramisu, and almond biscotti. All were so good. We are so happy to have found this place.

Such a sweet story of how the bakery came to be. Bake sales to save her dog. The entire family was present that day, wish I thought to get an espresso, heard they're amazing. This little hidden gem is just that, a gem! They offer so many choices, imported pastas and tinned fish. Frozen take home meals along side fresh. Heard their sandwiches are great, maybe next time. I purchased some great biscotti, anise and almond. Along side almond tiramisu which was very rich and delicious. I wish I knew they had gelato, it was so busy which made it hard to see it all. My friend purchased bagels, which they source elsewhere... but wow they were great. So fresh. They also do cakes to order. Last year my friend had a beautiful Cannoli cake. That was in October and I still think about it. Too bad I live 3 hours away!

I love the sourdough round from Rise bakery in West End Greenville but it is quite a drive from Simpsonville. Since I found Gio's, I can now make the short drive and get one just as good. In addition I can get tiramisu (two versions), pastries, refrigerated dinners, and recently, baguettes. Try it. You will be glad you did.
