Very quiet with dim lighting. The service was very good. Food was good but not extravagant for the price. If you are not a member or have an amenity card, you can not eat here.

We have a toddler and an infant… you climb a flight of stairs to get into the restaurant, then we were asked to climb another flight of stairs to sit in a very noisy, crowded room. The table was not cleaned, the chairs had to be wiped out before we sat down. The table had crumbs and greasy spots all over it. Our waiter took our order, then it was brought to the table by someone else… I ordered shrimp and grits. The grits were very runny and no spoon was given. I had to ask multiple times for a spoon, something that should have been given when the food was brought to the table. The shrimp should have been taken off the grill 5 minutes before it was… it was very chewy and not good at all. My husband got the seafood combo platter… it was just AWEFUL… the shrimp was over cooked, the flounder was sweet but not very flavorful, the French fries were cold and not fresh, the shrimp was fried way too long and very chewy. The bill was $85 dollars for something Long John Silvers and its high school staff could have done a better job of making. I will have to say that it will be a cold day in hell before I subject my family to this horrible place again.

Used to be one of our favorite places when we came to fripp but since the new owners took over they have been skimping out. The fried oysters used to be big and had flavor, the ones we got this year were just crust and no flavor. It’s just a shame that they had to decline so much especially with how much you have to spend

Beware of pricing!! We’ve been ordering takeout from the boathouse for years during our family trip. The google search menu is wrong (and they knew it. I’m pretty sure they benefit from this all the time so why change it??) Surf and turf advertised for $29….. but it was really $54!!!! And not even close to being worth $54. The $8 shrimp app was $24!l the fried shrimp batter wasn’t fully cooked and the shrimp app was over charred and tasted like burnt shrimp ! Not many options on the island but we won’t waste our money again. The best the manager ‘could do’ is offer me a $6 refund. They could care less…. No real competition so why would they. The food wasn’t that good, either.

Very nice atmosphere. Newly renovated. Looks great.

Food is meh, service is average.

To go employee lacks focus and attention to orders placed.

Soup portions are patheticly small.

It is just okay. You are paying for the view, but far from elegant.

Once and you are good.

We had a large group with reservations and were seated fairly quickly in the upstairs area. What a beautiful view! The service was attentive by the server but the kitchen forgot items. I had ordered a wedge salad ($15) along with my fish taco entree and it didn’t come. The waiter checked on it and brought it when I was about finishing my meal. Two others in our group had similar issues with various foods. The food was OK, but not anything I’d recommend. Fripp Island has very limited dining options and having a captive customer base affects the quality of food in my opinion. If you’re looking for something on island, this is probably your best option. Prices are a bit high, but inline for a resort restaurant. Make certain you have a Fripp Island amenity card or you’ll be refused service.

Took my family of 5 here for dinner tonight. We ordered several different items off their limited menu. The Alfredo dinner and the glazed salmon were just okay but the 35 dollar crab cake dinner was horrible. No flavor. The massive bowl of grits the crab cakes sit on have no flavor. None. Worst crab cakes and grits I've ever had. The kids ordered mac and cheese for their sides and no one touched it. No flavor and hard solid like cheese made it unappealing. The kids grilled shrimp were so over cooked they were like rubber. We didn't order any alcohol and our total was over 200 dollars. I just drank water! Highly over priced, food was not worth what they are asking. You are essentially paying for the view.
Service was great though and everyone we encountered was very friendly. We won't be back though.
