Blue Bayou Bistro is a nice little place on the water with a charming interior and authentic atmosphere. The food is hot and fresh, with many guests praising the crab legs special as delicious. The blackened red snapper with wild mushroom risotto special was described as AMAZING, and the blackened chicken sandwich with a side of blackened shrimp was perfectly cooked and cost effective. A salad was fresh and plentiful, the gumbo was excellent, and fried shrimp was so fresh it popped. However, not all meals met expectations. A poboy was a bit dry and not tasty, a fish had no moisture or flavor, and a shrimp po boy had 8 small shrimp dwarfed by the roll. Service receives mixed reviews; some found the staff fast and friendly, while others experienced slow service with infrequent check-ins. Despite some inconsistencies, the restaurant is worth a visit, especially for the crab legs.
