Chef 21Event Space (Ramen, Hibachi, Sushi, Bar)

My husband and I had the BEST experience here! The Korean BBQ, Sushi and specialty cocktails were all amazing. We also tried to Wagyu experience and it was both a fun experience and delicious. The atmosphere is upbeat and hip but you can still easily have a conversation across the table. We would definitely dine here again!

Res at 5:45, sat at 6:30 after persistent encouragement, trying to make show at 7, couldn't order food preferred to severe constraints and how poor service was. Granted GVL as the busiest I've ever seen it and thought it would be difficult to get in anywhere else.

I went to Chef 21 before going to the Nate Bargatze show at Bon Secours Arena. Dinner reservations for two of us were at 4:45 -- we got there at 4:30 and we were seated on the patio immediately. There was some confusion as to who was going to be our waiter - so it appeared they just kind of tag-teamed. Not a problem -- both guys were very nice --- they were working behind the bar as well -- they just got overwhelmed around 5:15 as everything got really busy. The patio -- it's okay, but there's no music or anything -- it's more just chairs/tables sitting outside. Happy Hour was 4:30-6:30 -- even on a Saturday night -- so 50% off drinks was good. The food was okay nothing spectacular -- I requested the Hibachi Steak and Salmon, but got the Steak and Shrimp. It was a smaller portion in my opinion, and I didn't want to send it back because I could tell they were overwhelmed. I didn't see my waiters for the last 30min I was there, and I had to ask a random person for my check. Waited a while wondering if they were going to get my credit card until I finally took it inside and paid it at the bar. No one asked if we were doing okay or anything -- just kind of ate and left I guess.

The service was quite good. We happnend to be in the Greenville area. Found this location. Had a few tables set outside. Neat, quiet, good food and service. I would defintiely go back in the area. A nice relaxed good meal.

It was absolutely fantastic ! From the food to the service to the entire staff and ambience it is just a pleasure to dine with chef 21 every time. As a chef I just love coming there and will be back soon!

Good, unique meal to celebrate one of my daughter's birthdays. Staff was very nice and accommodating. We did a Korean BBQ for 4 which offered a good variety of different proteins and sides. We also had a sushi burger which was my favorite thing tried. Overall just a pleasant, good time with family, food, and drinks. My wife really liked her cocktail that came served with an astronaut glass holder (I think it was called “fly me to the moon.”

The casual atmosphere os very inviting. Service and wait staff were engaging and a delight. Some of the best service i have had in a while. Their Dim Sum variety is excellent and delicious. One of the few places in town to get soup dumplings. I will be back again and again.

This was my first time going to chef 21 in Greenville. I have never had an experience as fun, relaxing, and entertaining as the night my family and I went there. 10 out of 10 recommend try the small dishes and a couple of delicious craft cocktails and just enjoy the night with a great crowd.

Excellent meal and wonderful staff! My whole family had a great experience and the dim sum made a memorable visit with family members visiting Greenville. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

The food and service was good. The atmosphere is odd and doesn't match the food. Also we just sat down and the Dim Sum cart arrived, as well as the dessert cart. That was too quick. We hadn't even looked at the menus. The Dim Sum we ordered was very good. The sushi was very good as well and was beautifully presented.

Absolutely one of the best in the Greenville area! The food is amazing, the staff were super sweet and helpful!

I was really looking forward to the new Dim Sum service and was definitely disappointed. The cart took longer than it should have to make it's way to our table and when it did the selection didn't look like most of the pictures I had seen on their social. Plus, their were 4 items that were on the menu but not available on the cart. The beef short ribs and spare ribs were tough and really fatty. The shumai and dumplings were just average. We did order 3 different types of sushi rolls which were large and yummy, but we can get sushi elsewhere. I was really looking forward to a nice dim sum experience.

We have been several times and have quite enjoyed the sushi side however we chose to do the Korean bbq this time. Questions werent explained by our waitress and our grill was never turned on until one of our party finally did waiting for our food. the food was great, but took awhile too cook(no hot grill especially initially). all in all an ok meal with a big bill!

So good and such a fun experience! We did the hot pot this time and make sure you try out dessert too.

Best food ever! Sushi burger exceeded any expectations we had of what it could be. Sushi is fresh and high quality. Service was excellent!
