Just ate here for my very last time. 7pm reservation. We were there 5 minutes early. 7:55pm - seated at a table...55 minutes of standing in tiny lobby with 30 other people whose reservations were also not being honored. 8:10pm - server comes to table for first time. We get water and bread 8:35pm - first drinks arrive 8:45pm - salads arrive 9:05pm - entrees arrive (yes, it was delicious). 9:45pm we leave as it took 15+ minutes just to pay the bill At no point did any employee or manager come over and apologize. nothing was comped. An offer of a free dessert might have made us less angry as we left. Other patrons were no frustrated, they left from the lobby (after waiting 45+ minutes) or even left from the table due to no service or drinks or food. As we waited, I got on OpenTable, to notice they were still taking 7:30pm, 8pm, and 8:30pm reservations for same night. From now on, I'll go to Hall's or a Rick Erwin's for a comparable meal. At least they know how to take AND HONOR a reservation, and provide the service to back it up.
Celebrating our 56th Anniversary. Reservation for 7:00, was seated at 7:30. Received our water at 8:00 pm. Eventually received our food which was satisfactory. I had ordered asparagus but did not receive it until we were minutes from finishing our meal. Eventually it arrived burnt and at conclusion to our meal. The waiter did not charge us foe it. When I made reservation I had communicated that we were celebrating our Anniversary, yet no mention of it occurred. We have been there before but we will not be going back. There is noway I can recommend this establishment to my friends.
We generally enjoy Chop House 47 and had another nice night out overall, but there were a few highs and lows worth mentioning. The shrimp cocktail appetizer was good in flavor, but completely lacked presentation four shrimp on a plate with two sauces and a lemon felt very underwhelming for a steakhouse of this caliber. For sides, the onions had a burnt taste and weren't a good choice. On the positive side, the mushrooms were very good, and the creamed spinach was solid as well. The tomahawk steak was disappointing for the $150 price point. There was a significant amount of fat, and in hindsight I should have asked about that beforehand, as my wife did not enjoy it at all. Our server was very nice and attentive, but we couldn't help comparing the experience to our previous visit, where we had an older, larger gentleman as our waiter who was absolutely outstanding and truly elevated the evening. We'll likely return, but hope to see more consistency, especially given the premium pricing
This restaurant continues to be one of our favorite places in town. Food and service are consistently excellent.
An outstanding dining experience at Chophouse 47!! Chophouse 47 absolutely delivered on every level—service, atmosphere, and most importantly, the food. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt refined yet comfortable, with attentive staff who clearly take pride in what they do. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the sides were thoughtfully prepared and sharable, and the overall pacing of the meal was spot-on—ideal for a business dinner where conversation matters as much as cuisine. Everything from presentation to flavor showed a level of care and consistency that sets this place apart. Notably, my business partners—who are frequent diners at high-end steakhouses—remarked that they enjoyed this experience more than The Capital Grille, which is saying something. That comparison alone speaks volumes. If you're looking for a premier steakhouse in Greenville that can confidently compete with (and even surpass) the national chains, Chophouse 47 should be at the very top of your list. We'll absolutely be back.
Food was great as always. Our waiter Daniel was top notch service. Noise level was above normal due to our seating location at table 31, which has a direct wall opening from the bar patrons chatter.
Service was outstanding. The food was cooked to perfection and everything from the cocktails to the meal was delicious.
The food and service were top-notch. However, the restaurant's dim lighting and the rowdy crowd at the bar made us feel a bit out of place. We had hoped for a more upscale and intimate atmosphere for a date night.
We both had the petit filet and it was cooked perfectly. The asparagus and Caesar salad were very good. The server was very helpful. We felt welcome from the time we walked in the door.
Dissapointed that the classic fifties and Sinatra are gone for loud odd music that doesn't match the ambiance of a classic steak house. Not sure if they changed the table bread not as good as i remember. Steak delicious.

We had a great dining experience, our server was amazing and the food on point, very lively place, we will be back
It was amazing, the service the food the people in there I couldn't ask for a better place
My husband and I love Chophouse ‘47. It is like walking back in time with the Jazz feel of that era. A place where you dress for dinner and take in music, impeccable service and delicious food. We took our children for a nice dinner last night and we were very disappointed in the the vibe of the place. The service and the food were still on point and could not have asked for better, but the lack of dress and the “hip hop” music playing in the background was definitely a huge downer for the ambiance that made such a big part of the restaurant for us. I wish they would bring back the swanky music that use play softly in the background. When you are spending no less than a couple of Ben Franklins on dinner I just feel like the establishment should look and feel as special as it really is and Chophouse ‘47 is a special place.
We have been here multiple times and very pleased with the food & service. However we were a bit disappointed this go around. We had an 8:45 resy on NYE but weren't seated until after 9:20. Though the food was exceptional, our server left a bit to be desired. There was never a second round of cocktails offered, the wrong bottle of wine was brought the table, and we received the wrong side dish and then was charged for it. There was just an overall lack of attention in the service and to details. This did not seem to be the case at the surrounding tables. We will definitely visit again in the future but will be on the look out for a different server.
Steakhouse across from the hotel in Greenville, SC. Could not drive any farther and it smelled delicious from outside! Specialty is steak!!!! Did get an appetizer of oysters Rockefeller that were different. The oysters were not in shells but presented in the baking dish. Oysters were moist and tender but did not have much spinach and were covered in a bread crumb cheese layer that was excessive! More spinach and a little provolone cheese would have served better. The side order of asparagus with hollandaise sauce were grilled nicely but not overcooked and the sauce was just right. However, the steaks!!! Petite fillet mignon (8oz) were superb! done exactly as ordered and the best I have had in a long time. Had a similar steak in Chicago at an Argentine restaurant and they know beef, but this compared nicely! Excellent service and the waiter was well informed. Best surprise was no cork charge on the firest two bottles if you bring a good favorite of your own. Did not get dessert but oogled the ones passing by as they were huge. Good place for a fine meal!
