Gray Moon Breakfast and Brunch

Hoping the food would match the promising menu, we were disappointed from the start. A Grade B health rating was the first thing we saw as we arrived 10 minutes before opening. Still, we were the first patrons and opted to sit on the deck to enjoy the beautiful day.
While our waitress was phenomenal and offered great recommendations, the food was a letdown. The fried deviled eggs were filled with a surprising amount of raw onion, and the strange breading was an odd off-putting texture. The large breakfast potatoes lacked any flavor, and the shrimp in the shrimp and grits were so overcooked they were rubbery.
The most disappointing dish was the red velvet chicken and waffles. I expected a firm, sweet waffle, but what I got was soggy, flavorless, and full of strange black flakes. It was impossible to even pick up with a fork. The only saving grace was the omelets, which were massive and flavorful.

Food for lunch was overcooked and overseasoned. Soul food is made with love... not over seasoned... also ... there wasn't any alcohol available...

Let me tell you, I will happily drive the 3 hours from Florence to come back to this BLACK owned FAMILY restaurant!!! From the food to the vibes everything was immaculate. Plus the price ain't bad. All in all perfect place to start the your day!

My family tried this restaurant for brunch today. I cannot say enough positive things the food was fantastic, the service is so good with several people coming by to check on us including the manger. I highly recommend and you will not be disappointed.

Okay food and atmosphere.. waited 30+ mins for my food then for it to come out lukewarm at best was very upsetting. Tea needed a little extra sugar. Tall waiter with braces wasn’t very attentive. He brought our drinks and food out and we didn’t see him for the rest of the meal another employee (I’m guessing a manager) came over and checked on us to see if we needed anything and he told our waiter to bring the bill. Definitely need more attentive waiters. Service quality was horrible

I usually wouldn’t take my mom to any black own restaurants in the area, but I took a chance on this place and I’m glad I did. The service and food were excellent. My mom is still talking about how great the atmosphere is there. Highly Recommended

This might have been the worst chicken and waffle I ever experienced in my life the chicken wings taste like they came from a baby shower and was covered in powdered sugar I don’t know what the waffle is it looked half way done so I didn’t even eat it this was a horrible experience and never will I go back to try anything else!! This was certainly a waste of my money

Wow, what an experience! Probably the best and most attentive service I have received in a long time and maybe ever. The host greeted you immediately and in a courteous manner. Multiple people served us to ensure that our drinks were always full and that we were being paid attention to. Not too much like hovering over us, but just enough. Our waitress Ty was superb!

As for the food, it is made from scratch and you can tell. It’s not premade and of low quality. Excellent quality! I only wish I could go back more often, but I live out of town. Next time hopefully soon!

What a disappointing experience. I would not recommend this establishment. Had to wait 5 minutes for a spoon to be able to stir my coffee. Then another 10 minutes for plates for the appetizer we ordered. After 10 minutes of waiting we got up and left. Expressed our concerns to what appeared to be the manager and not a care in the world. Will not be back. Save yourself the frustration and find somewhere else to eat.
