Mediocre food. Small portions. I ordered to go and the woman that met me inside the restaurant was rude. She asked me something garbled from a distance that I didn't understand. She then repeated herself with an impatient and irritated tone. By then was up to the bar and could see my order was the one she was talking about. She just handed me the order quickly and left. After thinking about the incident I think what she blurted to me was "grub hub". I didn't use grub hub. So that didn't click right away. I was expecting to hear my name or something. So she must have thought I was some food delivery guy who she could treat poorly.

I have to share my personal experience at this place. I'm Hispanic and my spouse is African-American. We have eaten here three times and the first time we ate here, we felt a weird treatment from the male waiter, who is younger (25ish aged) and the female "owner" that wears glasses. We noticed now after the third and final visit that they have a very discriminatory way of treating black people when they walk in and how they serve. When white patrons walk in, they walk towards the door and lead them to the tables. When we and the other black couples that we've seen walk in, they wave them to a table and the male waiter is the worst at making it so obvious that he is either not comfortable serving or has a total desire not to serve the black customers. This is so obvious. As a matter of fact, my spouse and I determined that the last and final time we went the other day was just to be a test to see if the treatment was the same, and not to our surprise, this was the third time we were waved to a table, the waiter takes forever to get over and take drinks and orders and we watch every white customer get escorted to their tables and conversations with the female "owner" and male waiter. Lost a customer here who LOVES Indian food. We will go to SWAD and Indian Palace any day over this place. They are either very weird or very obvious. I think the latter is more apparent, but weird wouldn't be far fetched. Here's a lesson: Don't judge people in 2022 by the color of their skin... we are downtown residents, have worked hard to build a successful business that employs 130 county and upstate residents. We have raised beautiful kids that are doing great for themselves as they complete college and have honors in their aspirations of higher learning. We know what building our way out of poverty looks like and we know what customer service is as we are a customer service, company that serves businesses all over the world and we value all our clients as if they are our family members. We hope that our assessment is wrong, but it would be hard pressed for us to believe otherwise. We will continue to pray for your hearts and hope that people will be cautious patronizing you if they feel the same attitudes we do once we come by. Your food is decent but I am not impressed at all with your customer service.

I love Indian food and buffets, so I've really only been here for their Sunday buffet. The buffet is good, their tikka masala, rice, daal, other mains are good but every time I go it's a little disappointing. It's good, but it's not the best I've ever had. I don't think it helps that the folks I usually go with rave about it really setting up my expectations. Part of what's a little weird to me is how few dishes they have in their buffet... it's really just two smaller buffet tables and that's it. I sort of expected a restaurant like this in downtown Greenville would have a little more to offer. But I don't know the logistics of running a restaurant and managing a buffet so I could very well be overlooking something that would make it add up in my head. With that said, it's still very good food and the service has been very consistently pleasant! Not a bad option, but definitely not at the top of my list of preferred dining when I'm in town.

Loved the food and atmosphere here.I do wish they had more vegan options but for what they have, it was really good!

My first Indian food restaurant experience. Excellent menu options and atmosphere! Very elegant but inviting.

They have an all you can eat buffet daily 11a to 2:30p. Items are clearly marked gluten free or not. Excellent selection of soups and side dishes. Beer, wine and cocktails available. Outside seating if you prefer. Reasonable pricing. Takeout and delivery available. Located on Main St. No wait fast and friendly service. Great place for New Years Eve celebration. Coffee too.?

Excellent Indian food in Greenville Downtown. My to go place when I stay at Marriott in Downtown, only 2 kin walking. Run by Punjabi family (I guess). Very carrying owner. Slightly expensive compare to other Indian restaurants, but food quality is what you are paying for, and it's in downtown... So, worth it.Highly recommend if you are looking for Indian food in downtown area.

RUDE!! We tried to eat here twice and were treated rudely by the Owner twice! She slammed the water on the table and told us to "eat buffet". We wanted to order from the menu, but she turned her back on us and walked away. Advice: Eat somewhere else ... an establishment that will appreciate your business and knows customer service.

Was so excited to try...... and yet disappointed. Had the lunch buffet. Food was very bland. Where's the spice? Where's the heat? The chicken tikka was dry chicken breast. The fish smelled oh so fishy. I may try again but this was NOT worth the time it took to find a parking space.

I originally stopped here just for soup but I figured I’d try the lunch buffet that they have and oh my goodness, I cannot express the flavors of each dish but this place is a MUST. Everything taste delicious I haven’t had one thing I did not like. You know when you eat so good and everything taste amazing all you wanna do is go to bed, that’s how I feel right now!

The food was overall amazing, even though they got my order wrong. Irritated staff. The staff was irritated - I don't know if they're understaffed, but absolutely no need to be rude. I know working in a restaurant is stressful, I've done it for years! People understand, just tell us if you're overwhelmed, understaffed, super busy. Don't be mad I exist in your restaurant. I haven't done anything wrong. I was asked about my order several times, asked to repeat the entire order, and my name several times, then first name again... Finally staff said oh, you should have said "online order," I did... When I walked on and gave my name. Listen, I'm nice and I just just spent half a days wages for take out at your establishment. I felt bad for ordering at all. I made an online order for takeout. I double checked everything before submitting, including level of spice. We requested both entrées be mild. One was. The other was fireball hot spice.. . Make your next door neighbor cry - when you eat- spice... It was inedible for either one of us. It burned for minutes after a taste of it. The appetizers were incredible, and the naan was textbook fantastic. The first Tikka Masala was wonderful... The Second Tikka would have been good if not for the dragon fire spice. It was our first experience there, we will probably try another Indian restaurant next time.

So so so good!! A friend and I came from Spartanburg to try this place, and I can't say enough good things. I had the Chicken Patia and garlic naan. The mango flavor of the patia was perfect, not overwhelming at all. And the naan was seriously THE best garlic naan I've ever had.

I live in Greenville from 2007-2019. There are a lot of good Indian restaurants in the area. But Handi, is a standout. The flavors are balanced, food authentic and quality is consistent, for either eating in or delivery. I have lived out of state for 2 years now but come back to Greenville everyone month or more. Handi is the one place I get every time I am in town. This is not hyperbole. My family cooks Indian food at home regularly but this is a treat. If you see it costs a little more than other places it is because it is worth it. Usually one meal for me lasts for two (and I aint shy about my food). Truly a treat and blessing to have in Greenville!
