Great sushi. Very good service. They have some unusual rolls you won’t find in other places but very good. This is the same owner of the other same-named restaurant in Greenville. We had James as our Server and he was fantastic. I’ve been to their other location a dozen times and tonight was our first time here. Same menu. Excellent quality. Try the Nori Chips! Very unusual but delicious.

Avoid, Avoid! We used to be such fans of this place, but it has fallen dramatically! Perhaps closing the Pelham Rd location and opening the new location on Congaree drained all of their talent and crippled the Woodruff Rd kitchen. We did not recognize a single chef or staffer there tonight. Although we have visited this Woodruff Rd location many, many times tonight was our absolute last.
Very few people dining there tonight so service should have been crisp. Instead, everything sort of in slow motion. Every single dish was served barely warm, even the edamame. Pan-fried Gyoza was only very lightly seared and was served cool. Sesame tuna dish tasted stale and fishy. Hibachi was mostly inedible. My wife chewed and chewed on a piece of ‘steak’ before spitting it out. Hibachi shrimp was poorly prepped and cool to touch and just tasted bad. Quality of all meats was poor.
Our young waiter, John, tried gamely but his good attitude could not overcome terrible food. He offered to update his manager. She apparently blew him off. As we left I asked to see her. She turned out to be a seemingly very young woman who I had mistook for a cashier. I explained to her our disappointment and received a weak, insincere apology. She did not offer her name.
Net: This location is lost. I do hope the new Congaree mothership location does well as it must have all of the experienced hands there. Perhaps we will try Congaree in a few weeks. Or perhaps just start looking for a new sushi go-to place.

I used to go to Irashiai when it was on Pelham all the time, but I haven’t been in years so I took a chance at their Woodruff location and it is just as good if not better than I remember. The staff were all soooo friendly and helpful. Our food came out in a timely manner (it’s sushi so I know it takes a minute) and I was to die forrr! I got the lucky cat bc I love some spicy sushi and I tried mochi for the first time! I’m so happy they are in this nice big location now and I’m happy I got to go back to an old favorite!
Been here so long I don't remember what I ordered. Over 45 minutes to get food that is not cooked and on top of it all they messed up the order and did nothing to make it better. This is the first bad review I have done but it seems that more and more customer service is not the norm.
The sushi was amazing and the service was great. I will definitely go back

Been to Irashiai a few times before, but this was the first time at this location! Almost every option of sushi is delicious. My friend had an issue with one of the ingredients in their sushi, but they resolved it, although it took quite a while. The hibachi is also very good! I like the layout of the restaurant more so here than the other locations.
