I made a reservation earlier in the day to avoid any potential issues, especially since I knew there was a chance we might be running a little late. When we arrived, the bar area was very open, so we thought it would be more considerate to sit at the bar instead of taking a table and creating additional cleanup for the staff.

Unfortunately, when we sat down, we were met with unwelcoming expressions and there wasn’t any kind of greeting or acknowledgment, which immediately made the atmosphere feel uncomfortable. Because of that, we decided it would be best to leave.

I do want to note that the host was very attentive and polite as we were walking out, which we appreciated. I also want to mention that we genuinely enjoy dining at Jianna’s, and the quality of the food has always been exceptional, which is why this experience was a bit disappointing for us.

However, the initial interaction made us feel uneasy enough that we chose not to stay. I hope this feedback can help improve the guest experience for future visitors.

The Italian food was fantastic, and the cocktails were excellent! I will definitely be coming back!

I returned in February 2026—two nights in a row. It’s even better. I travel every week for business... this is my favorite Italian restaurant in the US, and I am 100% Italian.

Nicholas gave us the best experience from the moment we walked in until we left. He is a great guy

I enjoyed from the beginning to the end.
A service of excellence, great recommendations of food and wine.
The place is very pretty it feels modern but cozy.
The food is excellent, nice seasoning, great textures, good ingredients, its a must-to-visit, if are planning to stay in the town you should make a reservation

The service was really good and the “scene” was good. There were a lot of pretty people.
The food was near bad.
The Octopus appetizer was flavorless octopus but surrounded by bacon and greens ( bacon was the star of the show)

The halibut entree was overcooked AND the bread coating needed a knife to cut

The crab pasta special was mouth puckering salty AND the pasta was mushy.

Their slogan “modern Italian cooking”. Apparently “modern” means amateur flavorless.

And the biggest insult was the espresso.
It is clear to me that NO ITALIAN owns or works in this “Italian” restaurant.

From start to finish, one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Brandon, our server, was absolutely exceptional. His recommendations were spot-on. Could not have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend Jianna, and cannot wait to return. Added bonus: Chef Kramer’s personal playlist, heavy in English post-punk, made it extra special.

Hands down, the most amazing Italian food I have experienced in Greenville. If you want pasta, there is no better place.

The homemade pasta was cooked within the sauce, so every noodle was just as savory as the one next to it.

Words do not do justice.

Easily my favorite restaurant in Greenville. Everything is perfect. The location is beautiful. The service is always on point. And the food is spectacular. Of course this is my opinion based on my experience. Check it out for yourself!

We visited for our first time last evening. It started off well with our server Jaylen and unfortunately went downhill. We ordered a bottle of wine upon the suggestion of our server. He recommended and pointed to a red blend listed with the by the glass wines for $52. When we received the bill we were charged for a $105 bottle of wine. Luckily we caught this and asked. Without apology or hesitation, he said he would get it adjusted as he said he must have rung in the wrong bottle.
Appetizers, burrata and octopus were wonderful. However the special entrees, scallop dish and seafood pasta were not up to par. The server forgot to place the order for the Brussels sprouts so they arrived mid meal and were compted. We asked to see the cookbook they sell and it never arrived. We asked to see the dessert menu but only received the bill instead. We were ready to leave at this point.
We thought this was important to convey to management.

We decided to try to get in to Jianna during restaurant week and we were graciously welcomed by Chef/owner Michael Kramer who visited with us as though we were old friends before finding us a table.

To say the food was excellent and the ambience was fantastic doesn’t do either justice. Brandon was our waiter and his culinary prowess was exquisite. He helped guide us through the evening’s delicacies and drinks with a sense of humor and passion.

We started the evening with the ricotta with Parmesan cream and my mouth still waters at the thought. My husband had the bone in pork chop which was perfectly prepared. I ordered the seared scallops with parsnip purée which was divine! We ended the evening with panacotta with lemon and it was sublime.

Chef Kramer’s dedication to excellence is evident from the moment you step into Jianna. It is a warm and inviting atmosphere with attentive staff and food that you will obsess over long after you leave. It was a wonderful experience and I highly suggest purchasing his beautiful cookbook. We can’t wait to return to Greenville as this will be our first stop.
