Modal Hostel exceeded all expectations! The space is spotless, beautifully designed, and full of artistic charm. I especially loved the common spaces—perfect for relaxing or meeting other travelers. Conveniently located, it’s also a great place to stay if you’re coming from Charleston. In short distance to bars, restaurants and downtown. It really felt like ever detail was carefully thought out. Showers were amazing! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a clean, stylish, and social place to stay.

A wonderful hostel, just outside downtown Greenville. Several affordable room options, including private rooms with private bathroom. Clean, comfortable and cozy. The owners' communication was fantastic too! Will definitely stay there again.

Blissful

Way better than a regular hotel, stayed here while in a bad situation and I felt very safe here and welcome.

Honestly third nicest hostel I've stayed at. Really nice work area, individual room can be adjusted for temp or humidity which is great. Super well decorated and organized rooms. Feels very spacious even though really the room is standard size. Plenty of room to even do yoga if you didn't want to outside. Waterfall shower is also high pressure which was amazing.

Such a great experience staying here! The hostel is super cute. We stayed in the private room.
They offered complimentary coffee in the am along with eggs, bagels, other breakfast items. So cozy and cute! Felt much more personable than staying in a hotel or an airbnb
Would love for this style of housing to be more common

Adorable place, affordable and close to downtown. Fire pit on the deck! Great for a girls weekend and we all got our own beds!

Walkability: Less than a mile to downtown!

Situated just outside the heart of west Greenville, Modal is a wonderful place to stop for a stay. The people are friendly, the matcha is unmatched, and the artwork on display is gorgeous.

I especially enjoyed my breakfast spent petting a local cat who seems to have adopted the place as their home while chatting with other guests, buying some artwork with the help of Gem (sp?), & walking to and from Falls Park in the cool Autumn weather.

Highly recommend!

Nicest Hostel I've ever stayed in (of maybe a dozen). Incredibly clean, awesome common spaces, and a pretty nice free breakfast of eggs, bagels, fruit, oatmeal, and OJ.

This is a super design hostel, with a few common areas, a barista on site (when coffee shop is open), and a fully equipped kitchen. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm, the bed was incredibly cosy and the room has a private spacious bathroom. About 10mn walk away there’s a trendy food court, and downtown is 25min walk away or 5min drive. Truly a cool place to stay on budget.

It's the best. even cooler that it looks like a very well decorated home, but it's run as a hostel.

Safety: Safety was a priority for them, and there was never an unsafe feeling.

I have a great stay at Modal Hostels. Everything was clean and people friendly. The bedroom and the private bathroom in the female share some are very comfortable. The breakfast is a bonus to start your day: coffee, tea, orange juice, cereals bar, muffins,bagels... It was delicious and more than ? It is a great location if you like walking but a car is pretty easier to discover the city. However, you can use Uber or Lyft. I recommend Modal. Parking gratuit disponible.

My first time ever staying in a Hostel and I think I have been spoiled. I've been told this experience is better than any others I'll be able to try for quite sometime. Friendly staff, great location. Would Highly recommend.

I totally enjoyed my stay at Modal! I appreciated the modern, super clean rooms, art installations, eclectic guests, and included breakfast fare.
I stayed in both a 4 bed dorm room and a private room, and both were immaculate and neighboring guests considerate.
I wish I studied the location a bit more to understand that it’s located on a major street about a 20 minute walk to many of the sites I wanted to see in downtown, so I didn’t feel comfortable to walk by myself.
The hostel and barista staff seemed like cool, local artists but sometimes seemed stretched thin as one person would be cleaning rooms and working the check in desk at the same time. In addition, both times I went to the desk for a new key card, it took 15+ minutes and I wished they’d asked me if I had time to wait or if I would prefer to come back later.
As far as the hostel culture, I didn’t notice any events for guests or a shared dinner/drinks time. It was possible to meet other guests and staff, but since the cafe area is open to coffee shop guests, I’d usually just end up meeting non-guests. However, I never felt unsafe or that non-guests were entering guest-only areas like the kitchen.
