2-13-26. Had reservations, seated 35 minutes late. Everything very average. Spent $350 and would have been better off eating a good pizza at a neighborhood bar.

My husband and I I have been to Patterson's several times in the last year or so and have always enjoyed it. However, we went for a special Valentine's Day evening an unfortunately it was a miss, and an expensive one. We spent well over $400 on dinner and a bottle of wine which, if the food had been fantastic would have been acceptable. But this was by far one of the least pleasurable dinners we've had recently. We were also squeezed into a tiny table sandwiched between several others and frequently the server's backside was quite literally in our faces as she helped the tables on either side of us. As for dinner, my husband had the filet which was not flavorful and was over top of a big pool of mustard which was all you could taste. The mashed potatoes alongside the steak were very dry and overall the entire plate was barely touched. I had the tuna dish which I've had at least twice before and loved, but last night everything was dry and fairly flavorless. The coconut curry broth which makes the dish, was nonexistent. I would add that my starter was the chopped salad which was by far the tiniest amount of food I've ever been served and almost comical. The final nail in the coffin were the desserts. When we were first seated at 7:45 our server told us the crème brûlée, one of their 2 dessert options, was out and I could have a substitute. I was disappointed that this had already run out as it's one of my favorites, but accepted the substitute which turned out to be cheesecake. My husband had the other menu option which was a brownie and again it was somewhat dry and flavorless. All in all, from the starters to the mains and desserts most of the dishes were extremely disappointing. I would expect this quality and the lack of table space and breathing room from a chain restaurant, but not a high end restaurant where dinner, tip and drinks come to way over $400. I don't think we'll be going back, definitely not for a special occasion.

Patterson was a fantastic Valentines experience for my wife and I. The staff were so attentive. The variety of cocktails met anything one could want. The overall aesthetic was perfect. And last but certainly not least, the food was delicious! 10 out of 10 would recommend and we will definitely be going back!

Food was great as well as the server. Hosts were not very professional and poorly dressed.

We visited for an early Valentine's Day dinner and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice! The atmosphere was lovely - perfect for a romantic evening, and the food was absolutely delicious. What really stood out, though, was the excellent service; Cassie made us feel incredibly welcome from start to finish. A hidden gem in Greenville for sure.

Normally love this place. We come often. But Sat 2.7 service was SLOW. Drinks were SLOW. I shared when we arrived that I needed to leave in an hour and 15 min. It was a special evening with out of town company so I was predisposed to try to be gracious. It became clear Patterson's was having a hard night so I said just cancel mine, no big deal. I just thought, ok they're having a bad night. I asked to just cancel my order alone (my dining companions were staying later than me) when it became clear I wasn't going to be seeing my food in time to eat it but was told no, I couldn't cancel it because it was “almost ready.” But that wasn't true. I didn't receive my entree until almost 30 minutes after I asked to cancel it and was told no. Food came so late I couldn't even eat it. I could have gotten over the aberrant experience with the slow food and drinks. But what ruined the night was as not the slow (well in my case basically no show) food and drinks, but the fact that our waitress was rude, snippy, and provided poor service. There were lots of sighs and eye rolling and it was so out of character for anything having to do with Hartness. I just love paying $70 for a steak I don't get to eat and getting the stink eye from our server. Someone needs an attitude adjustment, Patterson's.

This may not be a typical review because we were staying in Greenville on the snowiest, iciest Saturday in memory. Patterson called us mid afternoon to ask if we were cancelling. Having traveled to Greenville for a show at the Peace Center and an overnight at the hotel adjacent to Patterson, we definitely were not canceling. That was a long preamble to say we got all the attention in the world and a superb meal when we finally arrived. Our server was attentive, but did not rush anything. Salads were super fresh and dressed to perfection. The mains of Osso Buco and a generous, perfectly cooked filet made the meal. The wine list is extensive, well curated and not unreasonably priced. We shall be back, hopefully for a visit without a somewhat icy walk across an open courtyard between the hotel and Pattersons.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Hotel Hartness at the restaurant Patterson. The environment was inviting and well done, and the service was attentive and professional. We started with the pimento cheese with bacon jam and rye crackers, which was excellent. My wife ordered the salmon, and I had the pappardelle bolognese — both dishes were very well prepared and full of flavor. Overall, great atmosphere, good service, and quality food. We would definitely return.

We were seated promptly just as the restaurant opened for our 5 o'clock reservation. Our server immediately arrived and recognized the birthday celebration that I had noted when making our reservation. My husband (the birthday guy) quickly decided on the Osso Bucco, one of his favorites that he has enjoyed all over the world. I settled on the 3-course 'Restaurant Week' option. We shared the bread basket, which was plentiful and tasty. I chose the Shrimp Congee as my first course. Never having had this before, I have nothing to compare it to. I can say that it was served hot and was filling. The shrimp were a bit tough and chewy. Overall, I would have to say it was a rather bland dish. My main course was the seared scallops on a bed of (cold) pureed squash. The scallops were large and could have been tasty had it not been for the excess of salt in the sauce served on top. My husband's take on the Osso Bucco was that while tender, it was bland and essentially tasteless. He was served a small complimentary chocolate molten cake to celebrate his birthday, which was tasty. On the other hand, the chef's choice dessert for Restaurant Week was a dry cupcake that was cut in half with sliced strawberries and cream on the side. One of the worst desserts ever!
This was our first, and most likely, last visit. There are just too many high end restaurants all over Greenville to choose from to justify going back to one that is totally underwhelming!

What an absolute delight to return to the Patterson kitchen and bar for my annual Christmas Eve dinner.

Best seat in the house for me is at the chef’s counter! The brigade was amazing happy and interactive throughout the Spectacular meal!

My server was absolutely outstanding. As I am a solo traveler, she made me feel like I was part of the whole Christmas Eve experience.

My selection in food was the Burrata with beats paired with the bread basket. My main was the fillet with Frits, And was cooked to perfection and so delectable.

Thank you to everyone at the Patterson kitchen and bar for making this experience so wonderful for me every year.

See you in 2026 :))

My husband and I visited Patterson's for the first time recently, drawn in by the promise of a nice atmosphere, and we were not disappointed. The lighting and low music create a truly excellent ambiance—perfect for a date night or a relaxed evening out.
We hadn't made a reservation and planned to sit at the bar, which was very busy. We anticipated slower service because of the crowd, which was fine as we were in no rush. The bartender was personable, and our cocktails were absolutely delicious. We started with the pimento cheese appetizer, which was really good and a great start to the meal.
However, the main course was unfortunately a letdown. We ordered the Osso Buco, and while the meat itself was super tender, everything on the dish—the meat, vegetables, and sauce—was literally cold, as if it had been sitting on a counter for 30 minutes.
Overall, the atmosphere and bar experience were top-notch, but the cold main dish took away from the experience. We'll likely return for drinks and appetizers, but might hold off on ordering an entrée next time.

Nice atmosphere and great place for a special dinner or a drink with some friends. Special thanks to Britney who took care of our table while we celebrated our 20th anniversary.

We always love it here. It is quickly becoming our favorite restaurant. They always make us feel special and as we have been coming more, they make an effort to remember our names. We always enjoy our time at Pattersons !
