my husband and i came right before close (11:30pm) for spicy chicken sandwiches. the work staff was very friendly, food came quick, and you could tell everything was fresh. the fries were seasoned nicely, and the perfect balance of crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. we got sweet tea, it was delicious and so was our meal

This store does not even need one star...the employees didn't have uniforms on wrong shirt wrong shoes no gloves no hair nets and my chicken order wasnt even right. My chicken wasn't even cooked all the way and when I spoke to the cashier she told me to speak to the manager and the manager didn't even get me a refund told me to go back to the cashier and get more chicken. First I'm from New Orleans and as soon as I saw the chicken it was bad. The biscuit was hard and for them to think I would wait another 30 minutes in fresh chicken was a No. I was ignored by the cashier when I asked for a refund again luckily the nice lady that helped me through the drive thru helped me and I got a refund. I am applaud that this place is running the district manager or regional manager needs to get this store right because after reading the reviews and waiting for a $6 box that I wouldn't even feed to my dog they need to call inspection people because this Popeyes need to be CLOSED DOWN OR COMPLETELY START OVER BECAUSE I WOULD NEVER GO BACK THAT IS HOW BAD THE FOOD WAS AFTER ONE BITE

This was my first time to the Popeyes on Haywood Road. They had to make fresh fries, which is not uncommon. And they had me pull up from the drive-through window and wait, but the manager was extremely kind and offered me a free drink for me having to wait. McDonald’s and every other fast food restaurant makes me wait every time and usually the food is cold when I get it. This was a pleasant experience in the customer service was very good and the food was fresh and hot.

When you’re in customer service, you bring respect — not attitude. I came for a meal, not a mess. The chicken breast was all fat, the Cajun rice was out, and your cashier was too busy on the phone to remember who keeps the doors open the customers. It shouldn’t take a manager stepping in to remind someone how to be professional. Handle business the right way

I initially ordered a 10-piece chicken box for $16, but the staff turned it into a combo without my approval, which increased the price unexpectedly. When I requested to make everything à la carte instead, the total came to $42.

The chicken was unevenly cooked — some pieces were burnt while others were undercooked. The crew appeared untrained and unprofessional, and the overall service was disappointing. This store urgently needs an overhaul in management and proper staff training to improve customer service and food quality.

Additionally, the gravy I received was extremely unpleasant, with what appeared to be chicken pieces in it. It was unclear whether it was freshly made or reused, which raises serious food safety concerns. I purchased two gravies, and both tasted terrible. The area also appeared very untidy and unsanitary.

This store either needs major improvement or temporary closure for inspection. I strongly urge the Health Department to check this establishment for cleanliness and food safety compliance.

You should go ahead and close this location. 11:05 on a Friday , and they say they don’t have any chicken. 25-30 minute wait if I want. Wasted lunch break. Thanks!!

UPDATE:

I received timely reply from popeyes customer service concerning my review. Sadly I do not feel like my concerns were addressed. In reading other reviews it seems like my complaint is not the only complaint concerning missing items etc.
This store seems to be lacking effective management etc.
It is no surprise that they have a 2.4 rating in south carolina. You have to be really bad to have a 2.4 rating in this state. I will NOT be ordering from this store anymore. Thank you

If I could have given zero stars I would have. This location is the absolute worst popeyes location in the country. Every order I have made, whether it's on their app or through uber, they have always succeeded in messing up. And sadly the app or uber will not allow me to order from their Wade Hampton location. My food is ALWAYS missing items and the food is ALWAYS cold and overcooked.

I went to this drive thru last night 10/6/25. They had nothing i ordered. I had to wait on chicken 15 minutes. I said that's fine. I got to the window they handed me my order which was basically what they decided to put together. No sauce. 2 girls had hair down to their bums with no hair net. I surprised the manager allows it....worse experience for my 1st time visiting
