Purple is our neighborhood sushi go-to when we are visiting our second home close by. We prioritize having a meal here each time we're in town. Tommy always makes us feel like regulars, and the food never disappoints. Favorites include the Greenville Sundae (which is sushi, even if it sounds like a dessert), the Kamikaze Roll, and the Spicy tuna. I highly recommend Purple!

First of all, our waitress came over to our table with a lit cigarette in her hands. This was a horrible experience. Our waitress had a mask...around her neck... Are they not required or even suggested at a food establishment during this time? When we were first seated, our waitress came out to smoke a cigarette, then walked directly to our table to take our order. Didn't wash her hands. There's a global pandemic going on. After we ordered, our waters came out ten minutes later (after we asked for them twice). The straws were unwrapped, so she clearly touched them. Then our food came out...incorrectly. We had to ask for chopsticks and soy sauce (3 times). We even had to go inside from our outdoor table to ask since she disappeared for a while. Lastly, maybe ten minutes after we got our (incorrect) food, she came out to let us know they were about to close. On top of the that, the food was not good. This whole experience was terrible, but walking to our table with a lit cigarette?! Wth happened to this place?

Not sure if it is COVID-19 or what, but the quality of this restaurant has been in steady decline. When I first tried Purple back in February it was a great experience, but the last two times I have tried the food I have noticed something has changed, and not for the better. For one, there is never any of the lobster miso bisque that originally wow'd me and made me crave the restaurant. Secondly, some of the ingredients of the sushi I order have just been off or poorly made. The ginger salad was just terrible, not the end of the world, but also something hard to mess up. I hope it is just COVID and the restaurant springs back into action once the pandemic is over, my first few experiences here were amazing.
